i read the 9 weeks and thought it was actually 9 weeks away until i realized that post was from a while ago 

So crazy to think we’re getting Kali Uchis in a few days and then a week later we’re getting Ms Lana Del Rey’s magnum opus 

ok yall i just came back from a three-day class trip and i just want to say first of all, lana ate, devoured, threw it up all over me and I thanked her, BUT
why do I have so many notifs attacking me about the fake lyrics, why are yall saying those were from me?

I know others have said it but I’m so glad she never shared any snippets for the new tracks. It made the first listening of A&W that much more exciting, because we had zero idea what to expect once we hit play (aside from what the insiders mentioned). I remember being blown away when I first heard the intro to Cruel World when UV came out. A&W is still flooring me. She’s a genius.  

This is one of her best songs (a declaration I can make just 1 day after its release!). It has that uncanny, instant classic quality that Venice Bitch and West Coast had.

No! I do too…there is something in the first half that feels like a corrupted, contaminated version of folk Lana. It’s like the song gradually has layers and layers of her “old spirit” bleeding into it. It’s fantastic in so many ways.

It’s been one day and I’ve been streaming 24/7, still on a high, still shaking ass 

 

am i the only one that thinks a&w sounds and feels really new and different?? even the first half of the song, it might be folky and stuff like cotcc but i feel like its still different. i feel like everyone wants her to have "omg another ultraviolence era!!!" or "omg this is sooo lizzy grant" i dont get why every time she releases new stuff people want it to be a copy and paste of ultraviolence so bad. (and tbh a&w sounds nothing like a song off of ultraviolence) i can see the similarities with some older albums but i enjoy hearing new things and lana experimenting more with new music!

Lana's Genius page is one of the worst I have ever seen. Truly some of her "stans" are so superficial and basic and believe everything Lana sings about is a drug reference or believe every song is a love song (Arcadia for instance... when it's obviously a sort of social commentary). Also when you try to edit something whoever runs her Genius page immediately downvotes you and deletes your contribution. Also the fact that she herself doesn't post her official lyrics doesn't help at all. And honestly? I think it's one of the few reasons why I think she wasn't respected as a lyricist for 70% of her career. Her lyrics are complex but are they really that abstract for most people not to understand a bit of what she's trying to say?

Ok I take it all back. I ate my gf out to this song and it clicked for me. Haters need to have sex.
