With her last two albums not doing that well commercially, I would think that Interscope would be pressuring her to release a more mainstream sounding record. It doesn’t sound like she is moving too far away from the sound of the last 2 albums though. So maybe Interscope is really just letting her release whatever she wants at this point. 

Idk, She had to make some changes due to label meddling early on, But for a good while now she’s been in control.
Now Ben & Ed will but in here and there,
But for her popularity & sales I’d say she could do whatever she wanted to an extent.
We’re not quite there at grunge/metal, But she’s working on it…

sadly i also agree with this, i know we're all begging for something different but from what she's already described i feel like it's going to be more of the same vibe  

Unfortunately making records is about money.
It's not so much that fans would tell her - in fact, I'm pretty sure almost everyone would pretend they liked it, at least at first - but I think Interscope would. Record companies are very shrewd and I'm sure they'd think that it would alienate her fan base or something.
Haven't they made her change stuff on almost every album to date? So yeah.
Personally I wouldn't mind something like Hotel California (which is classified as like country rock, I think?). I feel like it'd be almost a country/UV hybrid album coming from her and that'd be rad - but if it were straight country, nty

Personally I hate when fandoms control the outcome of something,
If I were an artist and my fans told me to keep making that sound - I’d do whatever I wanted & Then some to piss them off…

There are always new fans.

Can we stop talking about country ? LDR9 is not country. Maybe her next little project but not LDR9  
let’s manifest together with our energy some leaks or new info about new album 

i'm late but i feel like the only one on here who would actually be very happy with a country album  country instrumentals with lana's lyricism would be golden....

i'll keep reserved til we get more info before i decide to even form an opinion

Just like her music, all of her posts have lots of room for interpretation. I don’t even think it could mean she release country music next, probably more on a side project or for LDR10.

I'd appreciate a country side project similar to Dance Till We Die, I just don't want any Nikki(Or any features in general)

honestly i would love a country album down the road but after 3 acoustic based records she just needs a serve to switch things up and then earn that country record yk what i mean.. like if beyonce's second act is country i'm gonna love it because she already served cunt on renaissance. now it's lana's time to serve cunt

She probably meant something along the lines of "I really love country I hope you guys like the same things as me".
There's nothing in the W Magazine that sounds like "I'm doing a country record" and she said it clearly in that magazine before Chemtrails  (the only time she accurately described her next record with the country and folk thing )

I interpreted the country music comment as something along the lines of what she was listening to for hours on the radio as she was driving from Bakersfield to LA (aside from chatting with Annie).
 
Annie is working on being a stylist so I doubt she has anything to do with music, and I really don’t think the next record is country-esque, given what we know about it.

she's not making a country record, it isn't related to LDR9

We do know Drew is the main producer who is an orchestra guy, plus she described the sound as orchestra for the plastic bag song. Jack also produced a song with her that has piano and 808s, again doesn't sound like country.
