    No fighting here, please

    Just some thoughts:

Let The Light In is one of her best songs and collabs of her career. It has a quirky warm cozy domestic vibe with also the Beatles and hippie and nature and 60s, it's like Tomorrow Never Came 2.0 but not too much alike.

Candy Necklace is perhaps top 10 worthy ballads of her career, also song. It's like a 'murder ballad' but it's also like a lullaby. It deserves to be a soundtrack in a movie too.

A&W easily one of her gloomiest songs ever lyrically. It's like folk-grunge-piano-rock-acoustic-trap-trance. One of her best songs of her career.

Ocean Blvd is amazing but the live version of the song is even better. Brilliant track tho.

Paris Texas is has such a cute instrumental, it's like such a raindrop-esque ballad, I can't describe it's kinda a song melodically I would hear in British or in other Western European soap series.

Fingertips, hate it or not, has her best lyrics. She spilled everything she wanted to talk about. Same with Kintsugi, although Fingertips is more doomed thematically.

I can't take barttttender opinions seriously since he said Lana should make a song like Old Town Road.

she can absolutely suit folk/folky music, songs like pawn shop blues, oh say can you see, get drunk, jimmy gnecco, fordham road, your band is all the rage, super movie, yosemite, and literally the entirety of sirens suit her sound and feel very well

i enjoy all those genres from lana especially surf rock and would love a dark surfy masterpiece, but imo her voice is actually most suited for country music. she even sang her pop songs like thwy were country songs like listen to the isolated vocals from born to die songs and tell me she doesn't sing them like theyre country songs
obviously it doesn't mean she has to do country music but it does seem to come naturally for her

I would love something wordy but with structure. A some songs on OB were gorgeous and the Melodies were exceptional.

like in kingstugi the pre chorus (daddy I miss them)

fingertips (like the waves in the sea, call me Aphrodite)

i want more of that with a bit more structure

    and of course bridges

idk about that. for free is very clearly a folk song not a country song. let me love you like a woman is nowhere even close to country and not even really folk either, more of like a power ballad. and dance til we die i guess the bridge does have some americana grateful dead vibes but i wouldn't exactly call that country and the rest of the song doesn't come close to country either. breaking up slowly still appears to be the only country song. the album is much more folk-adjacent but even still lots of songs aren't folk either, just mellow.

i would go on to make further psychoanalysis about how her desire for her hurt feelings and pain to be known by the woman in that relationship is a subconscious recreation of her deep need to be validated and heard by her own mother who probably offered her nothing after the years of trauma and abandonment she imposed, but that might be too much for a lovely friday on the analboards

Just listened and I really like it! I love the shade to Sean and his wife too

But also it gives such an interesting perspective, where Lana is speaking to his wife instead of to/about Sean...it reminds me of what she said during that one live performance of Chemtrails, something like "you were engaged while we were in couples therapy together,  I wonder what she would think if she knew"

I feel like Lana really wants her to know lol

God I can’t believe this fandom sometimes. Like there’s personal preference, and then there’s disrespect. I just keep seeing all these posts about people who hate her new work and just keep thinking back to the lyrics (like I said before)
    “just another folk song,
    but anyway…
i try so hard, but that’s ok
its how the light gets in”
These people will see this woman pour her heart out onto the table for us, and they can only say how they liked her before or they “are sick of all these piano ballads”
she’s being so personal and open and y’all will just chalk it up to “just another folk song”

sorry for the ramble I get heated when it comes to this 😅

I actually love the lyrics to this song. And I definitely think it’s about Sean too.
LOL when people ask Lana to go back to doing “bangers” I never know what they mean cause it’s not like she’s ever had any??!
unless they mean BTD… if that’s the case, I’d rather listen to Life Lesson all day long 😳

I bet he’s shaking in his boots knowing YOU of all people won’t listen to his song ever again. I bet you’re really making a big dent in his bank account. How ever will he recover from this 🙁

People being scared of a country music album but let's not manifest messy autotune moments. I liked Fishtails but I don't really like how the autotune was in the song. I liked it in Tulsa Jesus Freak only.

fans caring about critics' ratings is just as cringe as fans wanting born to die 2.0 like lets just have something new & different. who cares how popular it is with the public or critics? it doesnt have to be the most groundbreaking thing in the world for it to still be new ground for lana.
