Actually, I doubt Lana is going to work with just one producer on this album...

when lana sees us arguing over which producer should work on LDR10 and instead produces the album by herself on garageband

In one of her interviews this year, Lana did say that the process of making albums with Rick existed in a "vacuum" of sorts –– and that's not to say that that's a bad thing at all. Those earlier albums are meticulously arranged and contain a lot of intentionality in their presentation, which requires some level of spatial distance from things to really focus ("in this town, an artist really needs a lot of space when they're trying to create something special," as Lana said in the Lust for Life trailer). But it's clear that Lana operates communally and has really leaned into the experience of making an album for the sake of sharing ideas within a community of songwriters –– that's evident in how she speaks of her crew in Echo Park (Drew Erickson, Zach Dawes, Benji Lysaght, Dean Reid, etc.) and of Jack Antonoff. Her recording music with local musicians and instrumentalists in Alabama really hones in on this idea of making music for the sake of the experience, rather than just the final product –– and I think that breathes a different kind of life into the music, as though the context transforms the way it's listened to. So it's just cool to be on that journey with her –– and this is not to preach from any high horse or anything, but I think you enjoy the music more when you just let it be released without any expectation of what you think it should sound like. (But I get that that's simply the paradox of being a devoted fan, so there's no way to completely get rid of that).

I rlly don't care what producers we get tbh. I just want someone new to come in, as well as drew coming back to produce some songs

As if Lana gives two shits about “what listeners want”. If you don’t understand that after the last 4 albums she’s released then some of you are hopeless

also this site is so unhinged I can’t believe we’re already fighting in the pre pre release thread like nature is healing

Lana's fans when she ditches Jack for some new producer they dislike even more:

i do have a soft spot for rick. as a stevie nicks fan, its hard not to. also he and lana really did create magic. when lana first got famous, he made her dreamiest music. and especially back then compared to the repetitiveness of emile haynie's production, rick especially stood out. then honwymoon was a complete masterpiece. and while i think more highly of lust for life than a lot of other fans, i will admit some of his production on some songs wasn't as magical as it was before. but do i think he's completely lost his magic? no! i would love to see him return and the songs he & lana make together will always feel nostalgic to longtime fans. but do i want an album produced just by rick again? not really. honeymoon was somwthing special and thwy'll nevwr recreate that magic and trying to would just leave a bitter taste in most fans' mouths. but would i like an album produced half by rick and half by jack with maybe a few songs thwy worked on together? yes please! imo rick and jack create the most magic with lana and its probably in how she gets along with them as well as the talent they each have. i'd of course love to see more zach and drew and jon batiste and some fresh new producers, but i think a jack/rick outing would be a classic. i know some fans here love rick and hate jack or vice versa but i truly think they are the quintessential lana producwrs at this point.

personally no. aka was already ldr1 and i'd see an unreleased collection similar to paradise & violet in the sense that it is an official release but not in the proper album line up, just an extra

I just know lana would never work with Rick again, so if I’m being logical, I want Zach Dawes to produce her next album, like ALL BY HIMSELF
thunder - black bathing suit - California - dealer -
candy necklace - text book is all produced by zach, he’s very much capable of producing an album by himself cuz these songs r TOP TIER  even y’all who don’t like text book u can’t deny that the instrumental was perfect

literally some users here thinks that if he comes back we'll have another btd or another honeymoon like you guys should just get over it, if lana wanted some sound like that again she would go for it with any producer

What the listeners want is totally irrelevant tho. Unless you believe music is a product and not an emotional human expression.

I remember when some of the users (probably a Jack fan) here made a joke that Rick has dementia and is living in the retirement house and I believed it  63 isn't definitely mega old, why some of the people pretend that he's Prince Philip in his final years 💀

Currently, if I remember it right, Rick is working with an Eurovision artist who became famous through tiktok but in his Insta posts about Lana (especially when she dropped Say Yes To Heaven) it is clear that he misses Lana a lot

For some of us Rick is our favourite producer & it would be nice to get him back for a few songs at least, just to see what they would do together now & bc we love his team & production style & skills. I agree that some people probably will be disappointed & that Rick is not the youngest anymore ( he is like 63 but it's not that old  ). But in the end if Lana wants to do piano ballads she will , if she wants to do something else she will, no matter who the producer is she is working with (as she should) & people just prefer different producers & their producing styles. And you can’t deny the fact that he is talented.

If Rick came back I think so many people would be disappointed. I am 100% Rick has changed a lot as an artist and producer since 2017, the same way Lana has. I think assuming they would come together and create things like they use to is unrealistic. Especially given their most recent song together is Bartender…
