Yeah I agree, I think if it had the "alleged" slow sound like the LFL demo and such, it would've had lukewarm reception like COTCC had (although I adore COTCC and it didn't deserve the hate) from the fans and GP. (Although when LFL album was released its reception was great from fans and GP until it started receiving hate from fans in 2018?)
My unpopular opinion is that the Lust For Life album we have, is flawless and perfect but that's of course matter of taste and choices.
Without the so-called changes and the final product of the current Lust For Life, we definitely wouldn't have NFR and all the albums what followed it.

LFL is one interesting era indeed.
I wouldn’t change the album at all, as « imperfect » as it is (I don’t mind the different genres of it, but some songs could have benefited a bit more polishing with the trap beats, like Coachella and In My Feelings; they kinda clash with the tracks that have very pristine production), it reflected the state of the US in 2017 and my personal state of mind.
I love how the outtakes bring us closer to the witchy, folky, spacey Lana that I love so much. And as much as I love that initial concept, I’m not so sure we would have loved LFL as much as we say we would; I think a lot of people would have called it « Honeymoon snore fest 2.0 » (yes, this is how HM was perceived back then).
anyways, I want Cry Kill Die!

absolutely, the shift after november 2016 was so obvious and tracks made in 2017 are very different for lust for life as much as for her style overall, i was thinking that there was no OG album and that her creative process just kept updating, but the change in sound is too obvious and her 2017 songs are almost from the same aesthetics and couldve been easily existed as a part of another separate project, its very interesting lana didnt divide and mixed original songs with 2017 songs, and i agree the latest made songs are a step towards something something new!
also what are these girl group tracks? did u mean The Shangri-Las?

Also, people tend to forget that the version of TNBAR that was in NFR was already intended to be on the final version of LFL because in an interview in 2017, Lana said that TNBAR is about Topanga and such.

I really like Judah Interlude the instrumentals are crazy and it matches A&W and Candy Necklace atmosphere. This is the real Patty and Sean dissctrack on this record but I feel like y'all sleep on it.
Why are you so infatuated with me?
Gives me damn chills every damn time, her distanced laughter, the gloomy sounds..it is very haunting.

Lana should do what she feels most comfortable with , not what others expect her to do or be.

i wonder if the discs will be exactly the same colours as last time since different pressings of records sometimes comw out a little different. i also wondwr if the discs will be the same flimsy quality or if thwy'll be thicker bc lana hasn't released flimsy records in awhile now. these questions make me wonder if i should order one but thwn does any of that matter anyway? i have one from the original batch and i'm happy with it and i know it constantly getting sold out is the only reason my brains wanta me to order another

as long as i can play them, they'll never be worthless to me. they're still special souvenirs from a certain moment in time and i can feel happy about it whenever i play any of lana's exclusive records. it was cool having somwthing rare but i didn't buy thw records bc i thought they'd be rare so in the end it doesn't matter if the whole world has a copy. it won't affect my enjoyment.

its just a dent in the sleeve, so unless youre planning on selling it, its perfectly fine plus its the original pressing so that'll always be best. but i really wouldn't worry about the dent. it doesn't affect the record inside and half the records i buy show up like that. and idk why you'd be considered a "local" for not keeping a record in mint condition. records are meant to be enjoyed and that includes getting bent up somwtimes.

With Kintsugi & Fingertips, as Lana says, “If you get it you get it”. Either it connects to something inside of you or it doesn’t. Specifically Kintsugi is so special to me, as someone who has lost many loved ones in recent years, especially the one who was the most important person in the world to me. I’ve had that experience of being by their bedside during their last breathes, it’s beautiful and sad and will never leave you.
Kintsugi feels like a warm hug from Lana, her honoring that experience, and her telling the listener how she moved through it and came out better after it.
