    let's not forget butch vig was on the studio when she posted the rockefeller snippet and he's the main producer on nevermind by nirvana so we never know what to expect

    I don't mind the airy vocals but I like that the Rockefeller snippet is in her high register but it sounds a bit fuller (maybe it's just the way the vocals were mixed I don't know... we'll have to see in the studio version )

    Same! It had/continues to have great replay value to me so I’m not bothered lol! 
     
    Also it is not like EVERY song on the album will sound like that even if the record is in the same vein. I personally think people are being a little over dramatic about it.

    For some reason many artists are starting to use their higher register more (alex turner for example in am’s new album). Maybe it’s the new thing in the alternative genre.
