I completely understand what you’re saying and I agree. Lana’s music and artistry has been repurposed and emulated by a lot of people over the years but that doesn’t take anything away from her body of work. It all boils down to personal preference but I honestly feel bad for Lana when NFR is looked down at because it’s such a special work. Jack, for all his flaws and limitations, really made her achieve greatness. The 1-2-3 punch of Norman, MAC and VB is one of the greatest runs in the history of contemporary music.

No lie I do think NFR is a classic. It’s beautiful and it sounds amazing on vinyl and digital. It sounds like a fading summer, like an orange and pink sunset framed by the green of palm trees. NFR really is immensely influential for a reason 

see 8:00 + basically the entirety of this song lol. Sure it’s not straight up classical rock but it’s still a dreamy, warm, dense, droning, ethereal, nostalgic wall of sound. I don’t really expect this to change your mind cuz I’m this is shitposting but saying that the guitar in here is not good is just a weird hill to die on. I have some complaints about his production but electric guitar really isn’t one of them. Stop wanting the song to be bad because of one producer - it makes you look weird.

Imagine having so much disdain for an album and era that yet again reshaped part of the music industry and opened a new chapter in Lana’s artistry. Jack isn’t a perfect producer and I know there are things he could’ve done better but Lana herself wanted NFR to sound exactly like it does and look at the album we got - a modern classic!

Honestly, her album titles just keep getting wonkier and better as she grows. Still mourning our gurlie "Behind the Iron Gates: Insights from an Institution". The world wasn't ready for her, though. It wasn't even ready for "Chemtrails over the Country Club". 

"Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd", though... That's a title that plants her heel on your neck and presses down. Lana really said "Swallow, fags...".
