i’ve been ruminating over the second verse of tunnel ever since it came out

gives me chills every single time i listen to it. i think it may be my favorite part of the song

like yeah it’s nothing groundbreaking for her but it’s classic lana, the production is better than most things on cocc and bb, the song doesn’t sound empty of muffled, has good lyrics, the production is grand and rich, you hear orchestra, you hear an electric guitar, there’s a bridge…and it’s only 1 song out of 16 like can some people stop whining already 
 
Every single sign points into a great direction this time and to something miles ahead of her last two records yet some people are STILL not happy bc iTs nOt uLtRaViOlEncE or trap 

Lana still has the magic to create such cinematic songs. People here are too focused on the fact that it's similar to her past two albums, because it has a different emotion, there's a lot of instruments, and it builds up throughout the song. Lana has moved away from the typical pop song structures and now finds herself in small details, long verses, and making space for her poetry to shine. Even though she sings such "wordy" songs now, she devoted almost two minutes to harmonies with "don't forget me" and beautiful backing vocals. The 2nd part of the song also shows Lana's passion for making MUSIC and not just singing her verses with random noises in the background. Imo, this is her most cinematic song since Lust For Life, and this is how I imagined Lana would sound when she got older. Full of emotions, lyricism, and orchestras.

I think a pastor’s sermon on an album that got Tommy Genesis and a song called American Whore (or A&W whatever) is very camp

The build-up towards the end of the track when that heavy bass kicks in reminds me of California  and I love the rolling feeling the verses give me - the pulsating drums sound like the ebbs and flows of the depths of the ocean…love it so much.

Cinematic Lana is BACK and it's so much better than I could ever expect!! This is me listening to Venice Bitch all over again, I'm blown away. I was ready but not ready for this, not THIS! This is BEAUTIFUL, it's such a strong single! I'm gonna stream it like crazy until the album drops, holy shit.

The song is absolutely perfection. The build up in the last minute… I’m floored.

If you still don't like this track, I don't think you're listening on good headphones (I'm not attacking anyone, so don't get your panties in a twist!!!) because WOW. I hear everything so clearly. It's so crisp and overwhelming. Something that her music struggled with since Norman.

I just had the most visceral moment listening to Ocean Boulevard in the middle of a very rainy night and I choked up. So intense, so painful, yet so full of wonder. An instant classic
