Yesterday a fan commented that he hopes Lana's album flops so only the fan base can enjoy it, and it's not the first time I've seen someone go in that "only I like Lana" direction. I am not a chart stan, but I believe that Lana deserves all the recognition in the world, and I am happy, yes, with viral sped up (wathever) on social networks because it can promote her to new audiences and new generations. We know charts are never going to drive Lana's career, but like, is it so horrible to just talk about it?

Blue Banisters was a different situation. The album had almost no promo, not a very appealing cover photo, a lot of unrecognized (first) singles and was released only some months after Chemtrails.
Now it looks like a lot more effort is being put into it. We also have a lot of collabs. If Lana and her team want to push an album up the charts, I think they could outdo Miley as well.

Something to distract you:
I made a list with all released Lana songs that are exactly 5 minutes long or longer. We have 30 songs so far which is a good amount & 3 of them are on the upcoming album & we haven't gotten the whole tracklist yet & all track lengths,  really curious how many I have to add to the list on March 10th
 
The list is in the spoiler & sorted from longest to "shortest". Cruel World already went from her second longest to her third longest & I'm wondering if there is another Tunnel song that is longer than Cruel World. I also made them a playlist & I can highly recommend to do that & listen to it. Her longest songs are truly masterpieces & by that logic Ocean Boulevard has to be a stunning album since we know there are several  5 & 6+ minutes songs
 
Edit: Also Yayo A.K.A is 5:45 minutes long ,that makes another song that is longer then 5 minutes & I think I gonna add it real quick even though it's technically not released anymore but it deserves 

Ocean Blvd had multiple billboards and tons of playlistings. Literally over 70 million playlist reach. The most of any of her songs.

Ben payola’d Spotify pretty f*ck’n hard. Dua not with him anymore pushed him to do this. The management also paid a bunch of celebs to make Instagram stories promoting the song during release week.
 
I’m fuming because Venice Bitch, Doin Time, etc deserve. They did nothing for those songs.

I have been very kind to you considering what others have replied to you with. I'm not sure what you're looking for being mean to strangers on the internet but I hope you find whatever it is you're looking for. 

I like discussing the charts honestly just because numbers are a tangible thing that isn't really opinionated at all. Everyone can have their own opinion of the production, Lana's voice, vibe, etc. but numbers are inarguable. I also just like seeing Lana getting streams because I know she is really passionate about what she creates and it's nice to know other people are appreciating it as well and it's appearing to a larger audience. 
 
Overall though her music is a story and limiting it to JUST chart comparisons would be highly unfair, but when just discussing the reach of her music it's nice to have stats. 

Miley is popular and the album and singles are going to make her buzz. But it's wrong to put it as if it were going to overlap Lana's album, as I've seen comments. Lana will have her audience, especially since I know we're going to have controversial lyrics. 

When you put it like that, I already see Lana as a grandma, while Lanaboards becomes a den of old and homesick gays, living on "remember when"

Even Sweet Carolina, because of the lyrics, went viral, imagine tracks like "American Whore". I already see little kids showing their eyeliner and making faces like Eilish.

I think Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd will have good streaming numbers on par with NFR and even in the long-term, the single has been doing much better numbers than Dealer and Watercolor Eyes with 300k+ streams a day almost a month after it's release, and it's RISING again, having in mind it is a very long song and many on the album will be too, this is a strong indicator it will do well as a whole.
Plus it's her longest album ever and has 16 tracks which will result in more streams. 
Also her hype now is bigger than ever, she's getting 14 million+ streams a day (3rd most streamed female artist)
And if we rely on the insiders it's a QUALITY album and it won't surely go unnoticed with the critics and general public too.
The instrumentals will be richer on the album the lyrics also, as we saw on Ocean Blvd, the album really has everything in order to great in the long-term and I really hope it does!
And not to forget her managing team lost Dua Lipa and they will be focusing more on Lana and her promotion which we'll surely get with her second single and tracklist reveal, since her record label has changed and they are aware of her streaming power and charting (BTD on BB200) for sure.
 

Y’all are underestimating the absolute chokehold she has on tiktok. Soooo many videos are going to be up about Lana’s album release, Miley’s only real chance is if her record has a lot of viral hits

As long as the albums are good I couldn't care less about the charts but I still want Lana to be successful and get that top spot 
 
At the end of the day longevity is more important than peaks tho... BTD never hit number 1 on the US and it's still charting 10 years later
