yep, i agree. she’s definitely not as “blunt” about her beliefs as a lot with women are, but you can tell with her lyrics and everything that she is definitely a feminist. i’m sick of the “romanticizing abuse” thing too, i don’t get it- why can’t she just write about her pain and experiences without being called a whore? makes me wonder about the line from “A&W,” referencing rape and how people believed she’d have asked for it if she was raped. maybe that’s a comment on all of the people saying she romanticizes and asks for sexual abuse.

FJM’s voice is fantastic, and just like Lana in many of her songs, *allows* his voice to break and falter.

I will not stand for this. FJM’s deep, sexy voice blends far better with Lana’s voice than someone like The Weeknd, and his high pitched, grating voice. I am incredibly excited for Let the Light In.

not the FJM slander i simply think y’all just haven’t gone deep enough into his discography… if you haven’t listened to one of his albums front to back and paid full attention then please don’t speak on him. his background vocals are going to serve

They’re so different. I love them both. VB is a classic but A&W is much more exciting imo 

I think the very positive reaction to A&W from the limited circle of critics is a good sign. I feel that the song will be a perfect representation of the album - dark, melodic, some piano,  somewhat instrumental, some trap beats, very different vocal styles, wordy and storytelling-style. If they liked so much diversity in 7 minutes I’m sure they’ll love the album.

Just imagine how much better it would do if Lana’s team did their jobs. A&W is a thriving, independent queen which we applaud. 

Fantano tends to focus on Lanas appearance and personality when reviewing her music as if that has anything to do with it (which it doesn’t), so I really don’t care what he thinks 
 
In terms of what I think the critical reception of this album as a whole is going to be, I really do think it’s going to be a mixed bag. This album is seemingly so diverse in terms of its sound that I wouldn’t be surprised if some critics don’t love it just because it’s not what they expect from her. But with Lana, I think it’s always best to expect the unexpected 

anyone who cares that much about fantano’s opinion is very clearly not lana’s target demographic anyway, he‘s irrelevant  i thought the only people who watched him were musty incels. i’m never forgiving his bald ass for giving Ultraviolence a 1/10

Lana’s feminism manifests itself in atypical ways. In her work you have to read between the lines. I’m what you would consider a “typical feminist” but Lana definitely is. A feminist is literally just a person who supports women getting the same rights as men. Speaking up about domestic abuse (Ultraviolence) is a bold choice and many could argue it’s romanticized but I doubt that was Lana’s intention. She makes music for her and gives no fucks about how others perceive it. A woman not seeking validation from the media and doing whatever she wants is feminism if you ask me. It’s just not “typical” feminism. 

This is a long turnaround time for a Lana/Billboard cover. I wonder when that's dropping.

Idk if this was mentioned already but I had a brain blast and I wonder if Lana did this intentionally:
We all know part 2 of A&W is very much giving Lizzy Grant/BTD energy, and when the song starts to transition, all the vocals sound reversed and there’s also some effects that sound like it’s a VHS tape rewinding or something so it’s like she’s literally time traveling back to her old style. And that also makes me wonder if the narrative of this story is actually taking place in present-day Lana’s life or if she’s just reflecting on her Lizzy Grant days

girl the closest venue to me that she played on the US NFR tour had a capacity of 2,500… also the Kansas City venue capacity was 1,700. she was playing tiny ass venues on the NFR tour in the US for her size. let’s research before giving attitude mamas
