all the sound complications last time… maybe the issue is the festival (i have heard shitty things about it) and she doesn’t want that broadcasted?

I hope she reduces whispering while performing this time

Robert Fucking Grant!!!  This album will be so peaceful and beautiful... anxiety-soothing day-at-the-beach vibes. This is a beautiful song, and I LOVE the underwater effect on some of Lana's vocals; she chose a raw, intimate sound for this very personal project, and while that may not be everyone's taste, it's a deliberate artistic choice; it reminds me of White Dress in that way, the choice to sing outside her comfort zone for a vulnerable, sort of wistful feeling.

I was really excited when I read that Flipside and Diet Mountain Dew were on the setlist but when I watched the whole performance I was a little sad to see that it seemed that these two specific songs were the ones she sang the less? Like it was all lyp sinc or almost all of it…
I think the best part of the show was Arcadia because you could really hear her wonderful voice and stage presence❤️
I don’t know why she thinks she needs all of these lyp sinc, backing vocals etc. I think her voice is so beautiful

imo i like this version it makes the whole vibe ethereal and y'all who are complaining are lowkey looking for any reason to complain. maybe she does alter things we love about the demos in the final but usually they're always the right choice. i personally hope she releases some demos like some btd tracks and LFL TITLE TRACK

anyways, lets just celebrate that she put out an unreleased song and that we're getting cool streaming numbers out of it

A lady offering lana the choice between the blonde wig (Lana staying true to herself and being Lizzy) and the red wig (Lana choosing Hollywood - like all the other stars did in the video)... the difference is she realizes "..you've (hollywood) been bringing me down", along with whoever she's singing about.. She chose to show every important aspect of her career in one video now I 100% understand the "where do we go from here" comment she made

Lana asking "Do you like it?" to someone "behind the scenes" as she looks at the red wig in the MV is so genius, it mirrors the behind the scenes people in the music industry that convinced her to make choices she didn't want to make. She was convinced and since she had a good heart she believed them, like all the other Hollywood starlets. But where did they end up? Dead in a box. Lana is saying NO not me and tbh as she should

Why is this thread dead the day after lala released one of the best MV's of her career

I'm gonna write a long analysis explaining my thoughts on the video when I have time later, it's too much to cram into a short one

White fire, cinnamon on my teeth
And I'm sittin' at the stoplight northern town
    I feel lucky
I drive somewhere out of range, I don't know where
White noise coming out of my brain
    Turns off for nothing

the fact that I only just now clocked that her 'driving somewhere out of range' is radio range and the white noise is the sound of a radio going out of tune because she's too far away from home to pick up the signal of her favourite radio station.
Like, It's Lana, feeling lucky because she's moving from her home town to LA or somewhere similar and being unable to turn off that radio static because then that means she's alone with her own silence and thoughts.

The faces aren't the same but their stories all end tragically
And that's the price of fame
A tale as old as time
You'd be a pretty little fool to think exceptions to the rule just walk around like you and me

the one scene right before the first chorus where she's walking down the stairs gives me strong sunset boulevard vibes. i wonder if it was intentional (it probably was)

    I’m just thinking…
What if the MV is about the murder of “Lana Del Rey”? Think of that last scene with the Hollywood star being in Heaven, together with the BTD look, all the acclaim and fame that goes with having a Hollywood star. Lana Del Rey will forever live on, her image, her art (BTD had record streams 10y after its release which is crazy) even if the real person behind her chooses to go in another direction (even if that direction is still music, but perhaps music that is more & more true to who she now wants to be & how she now feels, many years after she began this journey). With that ending, it sounds to me like she’s accepted the acclaim and the fame but she’s leaving it in the past (throwback to the BTD look) and it’s not something that’s shiny & dazzling anymore. That coupled with Ocean Blvd ending on VB which to me always signified a new beginning and what she was mentioning in the Blue Banisters livestream about “doing something crazy” “doing something totally new” etc … HAS ME COMPLETELY EXCITED!
