A few out of 100s of greatest moments-
 
Realizing Lana is doing just about every female vocal and sound, on every song (lead and background) and that most grunts, sighs, sneers, hisses breathe is Lana's voice.
(there are no background singers it is all her.) It is like how in 1973 at first I thought it was a kazoo and it took a while until we saw him sing it in concert to realize that it was actually Elton singing
the la-la-la's in Crocodile Rock... 
 
Moments where the only way to describe it would be to put down the exact time in the song it is mentioned. (hard to describe, but in Born to Die there is that something or other for a split second)
 
The incredible feeling (literally bought chills and tears) the first time heard both Old Money and Once upon a Dream (from the first note to the last and both on repeat for days)
and then two weeks ago sitting in a hotel room in Quebec City and hearing Salvatore the first time.
 
Shades of cool/ west coast/Brooklyn baby back to back
 
Ride/American (the bridge in both songs is amazing, mentioned the exhilaration of "Everybody wants to go fast..." in a different thread
 
The monologues of Ride and Burnt Norton and all the other spoken parts of songs (Please release a poetry audio tape, or perhaps an audio affirmation type tape to have while I do my swimming
exercises)
 
The stark simple Pawn Shop Blues which recently repeated many times as I was emptying our mother-in-law's house and having estate sales (especially when a stranger took her favorite huge painting no one in the family had room to hang, and walked out of the house, leaving the wall and the home bare
 
 
Not realizing when just the song was released that the beginning of High by the beach was a helicopter. (please be nominated for video of the year at the Grammy's)
 
God there are hundreds and hundreds of examples, especially with the pre-Lana songs...It is really hard to break it down to the best of 10 best or even the 100 best.

This is about the USA Democratic party and the 50 US states, Washington DC & Five US territories that all wlil vote in primaries & some caucus (but many less than last time). It is thought that there will be 4763 delegates with 2382 needed and the Democratic party has an allotment of delegate system NOT a winner take all
in each contested state/territory & DC. Most anyone can run (with the requirement being one has to be 35 on Jan. 21,2021 (so for instance Alexandria Ocasio Cortez cannot run in this election (but could in 2024 or 2028,etc.)
 
and the  same requirement for the VP pick the candidate will choose.
 
This thread will be edited as the time goes along in the next 2 years plus.

(and yes I would vote for Hillary should she run).
 
I figure for the Democratic candidate to win, they are going to need President Obama's core voters, and Hillary's voters.
And IMHO they have to be for wellness, like Michelle Obama and Elizabeth Warren both are (wellness including being against the NRA/guns.)
and that includes Mike Bloomberg who has said he would only run on the Democratic Party line, and he is after all a liberal.
 
More than ever IMHO it needs to be a female candidate
and one thing I won't vote for is any libertarian, tea party fraud (like any Ron /Rand Paul Deplorable). 
 
wiki has a list of about 85 people (including for some reason those they label as not interested, which is basically not true in most of the cases,
most won't decide for the next few weeks until the end of the year early next year. Will be interesting to see as Iowa/NH are not representative of the Demographics of the Democratic Party, thought is California and South Caroline(and the other Southern State primaries) will be a major factor this time.

oh those beautiful people have such beautiful problems
 
but then their history is littered with breakups reunions and more breakups while this reunion tour reeks of wanting the big bucks
 
 

Maybe because our world is dying, mental illness is getting worse, people don't talk to eachother in person anymore, everything is too expensive, everything has already been done before, there's nothing new to discover, the ice caps are melting, political tension is rising and people are getting angrier so we just want to know when the album is going to be released so we can have some good music to listen to while looking up at the sky wondering; if there is a god, why would he do this to us? All while disassociating.

Because our generation is drowned in a huge variety of anxiety problems and we (specially the ones in their 20's) don't know how to appreciate nor enjoy the present and are always looking forward to whats happening next. So, having a release date would give us some peace of mind and would also give us something to looking forward to, drifting us even further from whats happening now to, instead, expect something that will happen later on.
 

Someone explain to me-  WHY??? do you need to know the date of release?  With the entire world crashing down, just knowing that someday we shall have it is good enough for me.
 
 
A more important question is- why is Born to Die charting on the Alternative and Rock Album charts, yet is not on the full 200 chart? It defies any rational answer whatsoever.

I agree. It is proven in the Video Games video. (which really only became apparent many years later in retrospect as should every other be looked at)

Has it occurred to any of these journalist at any point that maybe in the past Lana wasn't just some lost longing puppy who's only desire was to fulfill the needs of her men and she was in fact a woman in charge and aware of her choices and enjoyed doing the things she's claimed in her music? Is there a certain requirement for what is deemed self empowered women? Must all self empowered women have a disdain for carrying such traits as Lana had previously shown? Who's to say she wasn't a strong independent woman to begin with? 

Personally I think  the haters of lust hate it because of the title, and the haters of it had a preconceived notion of what the entire album should mean
in their view, and that tainted the whole album for them from the start.  (not to mention didn't totally understand what she meant in remarks she made
that should or should not have been believed
 
and never actually gave it a chance that they should have.
 
My view is- they're lost and it's their loss.
 
Without Lust for Life there wouldn't have been anything before or after as it all is a continuation

Been a fan since West End Girls, throughout their entire now 30 year career and the last act prior to Lana that I consider really great.
The progression from pre-rock, to Elvis, to Orbison to Beatles to Elton to PSB to Lana
 
 I think PSB are the natural continuation of Elton (wish they did more stuff together
 
Seen them in concert at least 6 different tours in the US at various places in NYC
 
Just released their latest lp "Super" this week. Entirely fast, no ballads on this (they say their next will be heavy with ballads).
 
Their song from this "Pop Kids" is somewhat of a fast Being Boring (one of the greatest literary songs)
 
Love Neil's songwriting and voice. Chris's music. Would it be wrong to say they invented EDM before it was called EDM (or whatever it is called now)
 
Wish they would do something with Lana

HB: Your latest single, "hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have - but I have it" seems very prescient of the time we're in. Where was your head at when you were writing it?LDR: If you read in between the lines so that you're listening carefully, you can tell there's a lot jam-packed into that song. I actually tried to do all my interviews before I released it, so that I wouldn't talk about it, because it's just one of those songs that is really personal to me for a lot of different reasons and that's often how my music is. I jam-pack a lot of Easter eggs, one-liners that only I know what they mean. Throw in couple of phrases that are significant to my group of friends, and then just put it out online and let it live.
But I put a couple of words in there in the last lines about collusion and confusion, and evolution, and perhaps a subtle nod to a bit of the women's movement.
