Recommended Posts

Last night, Lana covered ‘Cry me a River’ at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, California with her pianist Byron Thomas while celebrating her guitarist Blake Lee’s birthday. Blake’s girlfriend Nikki Flores also sang with her. Bryon posted videos of the performance on his Instagram story. She previously recorded this song in 2011 with Michael Buble’s instrumental.
She also sang ‘Million Dollar Man’ with Byron on piano.

this is more of the Lana I wanna see, her glam siren self (in attitude, visuals ain't quite there) singing seductively over a jazz piano, those deep luscious vocals bitch! I knew the bitch still had it in her why is she not singing like this on her actual recent released work? less breathy LA fermented vegan wheat grass spinclass singing thru paper vocals and more sensuous brooding dark 50's siren baby vocals pls!

We really deserve a more fleshed out jazz direction from her. I’d love a full album along that aesthetic. Really been wanting this for a while! Lana please make it happen.

Exactly! I want her to come out with a smokey cool jazz album. I think working with Mark Ronson would be great for her! I mean Back To Black was a GREAT album, and I know Lana is far from sounding like Amy and they don't even really live in the same worlds musically, but where Amy was very 60s jazz, Lana is moreso 20s -30s jazz. I think it'd be great! Not that I'm not excited for folk indie pop del rey aka NFR, but if LDR7 was straight up jazz with Lana's flare it would be her most serious album to date and I think would do very good with fans along with critics, and probably would get her a Grammy cause the Grammys love jazz. It'd be amazing :oprah:
