TEMPORARY Chemtrails Over the Country Club - Pre-Release Thread: OUT March 19th, 2021

Recommended Posts

I think we'll get some bangers. At the  Grammy  Museum interview Jack basically said that WHF is the shit. Someone who was involved in the COCC music video said the song was  fire.  Dealer is a song in which she screams and yells. So I think Dealer will not be a slow  ballad.

And you don't say that some stripped down folk songs are fire or the shit. I think you would say that they are beautiful.

So I think we will get some folk/ country songs but not a full  album  with them

"Swan Song. It’s on my album Honeymoon. It’s the antithesis of hopefulness. It’s about trying to find beauty in giving up. If I had my way, I would continue to persist in all areas of my life, but it can be quite challenging because I can be too trusting too soon."

I'm just gonna say it, I've never really gotten attached to HBB or Stupid for being so Happy. I think they're alright, but I don't really see them taking slots on a quarantine, back to roots, even touch on her brand of feminism, dipped record. and another point'd be that we've already heard them. W all the preparation's and how secretive she's been, it'd just be an anticlimactic surprise to do.

Keep in mind that Lana isn't the best at pinning down her genres, so what's country/folk to her is probably mostly pop with some twangy guitars in the bridge or something

lets pray... I'd be alright with folkish music, sorta like some of the songs from her may jailer era but a whole country album? i dunno

Jack should of asked her questions like ‘what does Chemtrails actually mean’. Do you feel this is your last record for awhile or is your muse still growing’. was it difficult choosing between a 12 or 16 track album’. Where did you get the ideas for the imagery or the album and what’s the meaning behind the album cover’.

you know useful questions! Instead of talking about nothingness

considering songs like venice bitch were more experimental / progressive folk i would trust that they know what they’re doing together. i have a feeling it’ll just be NFR with less strings.

one thing with jack antonoff that i think we can all appreciate, whether or not you like his production style, is his ability to allow the music to speak for itself. venice bitch, the outro’s for cinnamon girl and the greatest, or vice versa, just allowing lana’s vocals to swallow the song while the music accents her - like in hope is a dangerous thing. i’m looking forward to his ability to create a scene with her words, rather than just a song. he knows how to create a world for her.

true, although I really do hope that cocc isn't just another nfr; it would be nice to hear a fresh & new sound from Lana, as we usually do whenever a new era starts. Having said that I actually wouldn't be mad at having some more piano ballads similar to hope, or more of the soaring instrumentals we got in cinnamon girl. Overall I just hope it stands on it's own and is unique.
