TEMPORARY Chemtrails Over the Country Club - Pre-Release Thread: OUT March 19th, 2021

Recommended Posts

I am becoming increasingly convinced that she will go all scorched earth on COCC given how she's been shading her mother on insta for half the year + QftC + how she said in the interview about telling people when they are fuckers.

I want some You Oughtta Know Alanis Morrisette type o' shit on there and I hope that's what she's getting at when she said Dealer involves yelling.

That is all.

ur legit gonna look the same stop buying oil of Olay face cream

I have a bad feeling Chemtrails is gonna be some acoustic flop

I too thought she was going to take the folk-ish route and pull a Weyes Blood, Zella Day, Julia Jacklin type of thing, which I don't mind at all because I trust her ability to make great melodies and I'd much rather Lana go folk-rock than country to be honest, but the TJF snippet points to a different type of production. In all honesty I was expecting the same type of indie folk when I first heard MAC and VB but then Doin' Time and CG made an appearance so you can't really know where you stand with Lana.

But anyway, given her interview, I would not expect a cohesive record. She said something along the lines of 'When you have an eclectic overactive mind, a record like Chemtrails is what you're going to get' which sounds like LFL 2.0 and I am NOT here for it. I would much rather Lana take her own time and deliver a thought-out painting rather than a snap chat . Does any of you know if her contract with Interscope is due anytime soon? Because it doesn't make sense to me, last year she said she was super inspired to keep writing music but in the interview she said that if she hadn't been so busy with her personal life and stuff she would have been more careful with the record. Is it possible she is putting her last record out with Interscope to get it out of the way? (just speculating here btw)

Dealer is giving me Beyoncé's Don't Hurt Yourself vibes

Dealer probably won’t even make the album. It sounded like she was joking about it being put on there.

i found info they sign either for 3 or 5 albums.. maybe she could renew her contract? hopefully. lana releasing an album with no label would be the worst nightmare

Which artists would you like to see perform Lana songs and which songs should they cover? (I kind of want to hear Norah Jones perform Bartender, How to disappear, or maybe even for K Pt. 2)

Oh, I love this and I think we could totally start a new thread about LDR songs that should be covered by other artists and who by.

I always thought Resistance could have been a song by The Cardigans and even Belle & Sebastian.

Back to the basics has always given me Carly Simon vibes, specially the piano intro :D

She's a gorgeous narcissist and she knows it.
