Been an LB lerker from Reddit but after the video was posted yesterday I had so many thoughts I needed to share!

 

I think the Grey Gardens vibes is an aesthetic preview! I think the video was intended to be a kitschy/satirical play on that documentary (as opposed to some people saying it seemed weird/sad). Grey Gardens is about two lost cousins of Jackie Kennedy living in poverty (literally hidden in a decaying house surrounded by rich folk of the Hamptons)! She even calls Jack “Little Edie,” a person from the documentary, in one of her captions. I think it could possibly be a hint of the COTCC aesthetic, like focusing on the run-down area or decay around a nice country club (i.e. those who are only able to see the chemtrails over it and will never be invited inside). Which is maybe why she’s referencing Midwestern states like Arkansas in her sound and vibe and saying the record feels very Midwestern. It would be a throwback to her trailer park and “Queen of the Gas Station” kitschy glamor vibes !!!!! WE ARE  *L I V I N G* ~

Also, singing about the people who will never be in the country club but can see the chemtrails over it kind of parallels what she‘s been saying about dying an underdog (cough cough fruitless Grammy noms), or acting the same way as other artists but not being accepted in the same way, etc (her question for the culture ideas)

The most mind boggling thing about this to me is who in their right mind would release an audio book based on a Poetry book MONTHS in advance with little to no promotion. What the fuck.

 

I'm starting to think that she feels like people didn't/don't care about this upcoming album, which is why everything seems to be so damn slow, underwhelming and unprepared.

"buy the book first xxx" they really take her fanbase being rabid pockets of money for granted don't they. And the worst thing is that people will just dutifully buy it. The lack of respect for the fanbase, teasing the fact that people want to know when the music is coming SO THEY CAN BUY IT is just crazy to me.

This pre release started off well, as we thought it would be small and a simple surprise release, now it's shaping up to be even more annoying than NFR. but I’ve loved Lana from the beginning, and have lurked for many many pre release eras (At least dating back to HM, maybe even UV) and each one gets sloppier than the next and I think looking at everything from different angles helps, so more than anything I’m just trying to be neutral... no brutal involved, that’s just how I come off 

 

at the end of the day what I think, and what I say are as much as a guess as everyone else, but I air more on the side of caution

There seems to be a pattern with Lana's pre releases, i think we confuse the relief with hype. Like i don't even get that hyped before an album cus the frustration takes out most of the fun, it's more of a sigh of relief when it finally comes out, rather than a feeling of hype, idk. Like i was hyped before but now it's back to just the classic messiness we get every era and it's exhausting, like most people have said, its not about the wait, it's about the not knowing, and the straight up lies from Lana and her team  Like she could drop the pre order with a new release date right now and a part of me won't even trust it until its finally released lmao

My guess is that LMLYLAW will come the week of October 5th, with the pre-order coming the week of October 19th, the COTCC video coming the week of October 26th, and the album coming on Friday, October 30th. 

are we sure the Sep 5th date was still set in the end of July tho?

 

by then she had to have known she didn’t have the high budget video shot yet, and probably had just gotten the green light for that or was in the planning stages of getting someone to shoot the video

 

she shot the video end of August, about a month after the interview (where she even says she’s unsure I’d the album is done yet) I think we can probably assume by then she had an idea the album might be pushed back 

 

unless she did shoot a video (yellow jumpsuit pic) and planned on using that but her managers said no?? I just think that with as much of a budget as they are doing for this video it had to have been planned more in advance than late July 

 

unless I’m giving them too much credit on the planning of everything
