The Right Person Will Stay - Pre-Release Thread (OUT: May 21st, 2025)

Recommended Posts

going into this thread, i just got a Hidden Valley ranch ad (and I'm lactose intolerant help) so I'm going to assume there's a song about a ranch or a song titled "ranch" on this nonexistent album

another delulu theory

some tracks on COCC/BB (and maybe Tunnel) are scrapped tracks from Lasso/TRPWS. IYLDWM has country touch so i wouldn't be surprised if this was considered for early Lasso/TRPWS. NAWWAL has acoustic minimal production and fits to country soundscape as well (+ wasn't on OG tracklist). she was making this album for long time so it makes sense that some tracks could be considered for project but suddenly decided to putting on other non-country project.

this makes a lot of sense. breaking up slowly could have been a part of it, too. she was in her country bag 2020 / 2021ish playing at small venues with Nikki. COCC and BB seemed sort of slapped together and I think we would have gotten a more polished, country album after NFR if the pandemic didn't happen.

And, though written much earlier, it has the "put your red boots on baby/giddyup" lyric.

it's the other way lol COCC are leftovers from NFR for the most part. DBJAG (original Bird World lyrics/NFR title track demo turned into this), NAWWAL (Wanderlust during NFR) from NFR. LMLY from UV, Yosemite from LFL. The rest we don't know about, and they could've been small teases for what's to come, but they never originated to the Lasso/TRPWS album. It can't be outtakes for something that didn't yet exist

Look, I prefer Chemtrails to NFR!, and BB to NFR! too. I prefer LFL and Paradise to Honeymoon. Why else was I nominated for Worst Taste two years ago?

Our collective tastes are not as uniform and straight-forward as people assume.

No doubt there are many who believe NFR! is the highlight of Lana's career and always will be, with Honeymoon and/or UV placing second and/or third, and OB also holding a prominent place, and that may be the majority, but there's thousands of us, and millions out in the wider world, with all kinds of varied tastes when it comes to Lana's albums ranking.

So what are the chances hundreds here and tens of thousands elsewhere find a great deal to embrace on TRPWS?

I don't ask for a solid album of songs I love from any artist. If there's 5 or 6 I love, then great. If it's only 2 or 3, good.

And as we've all experienced, I think, sometimes songs grow on us over time. I took me awhile to appreciate Arcadia, but I've loved it for years now.

i'd love it if the album was solid throughout.

she's hard 2+ years to make it, she has the Cadillac of producers at her disposal, she has 100 unreleased songs to draw from, and it's a 13-track record.

If get another blue banisters snooze fest, i'll be disappointed

Pantene said the secret project would blow fans minds and was music related. Sorry but I really don't think there's a chance it's a remix album with a fan or the Vogue diary vlog or The Abyss song like others have guessed. It's most likely an unreleased album, AKA official release or an original project unconceivable to us. Whatever it was seems to be shelved for now.

solar power as in the song or the album? if it's the album they're not completely wrong, it does have its fair share of genre similarities with venice bitch

The title track :rip: I actually like the album generally and do agree some songs share the same neo-psychedelic feel but I remember them teasing the title track in that way

When asked if the new album is depressing:

So we're getting May Jailer-esque acoustic stuff (but with a high budget), possibly not a single upbeat track, (mostly?) depressing music, and Henry doesn't make sense as the lead of the album despite the whole acoustic/sparse/back to basics/Sirens style, lol. I don't know about you, but my body is ready. :hawt:

there’s some fun songs, I haven’t heard all the tracks yet so there’s hope I guess.

I would just rather for her to take a time for her marriage and put out an unreleased compilation lol

:shock2:

Was that the secret project?
