VegasBaby 895 Posted March 1, 2013 I love the idea of this thread. I've thought about my favourite moments in her songs and it's interesting to read other people's and what they mean to them. 3.Every angry, desperate scream in Noir. "Pushing up my (moans) in your face, in your face" in "Go Go Dancer" - Some of the breathier vocals on AKA, especially "Kill Kill", "Jump" and "Mermaid Motel" body electric in hackney. Yes. Moments/lyrics that always get me are:- The chorus of Bad Disease. She's so raw in this song. I love it but it's sometimes hard to listen to. The whole of Gods & Monsters but especially: You got that medicine I needDope, shoot it up straight to the heart please The way she sings that part... The chorus of Hollywood's Dead but all of it is pretty fantastic. The ending of Motel 6. Too cute. The intro/outro of Pawn Shop Blues <3 All of Playing Dangerous. "I feel so alone on a Friday night, can you make it feel like home, if I tell you you're mine" -BTD "Let's take Jesus off the dashboardGot enough on his mind" - DMD. Epic. 1 Quote Sweeping scents and blue hydrangea. Summer hail and summer stranger.
Jord 3,481 Posted March 1, 2013 I love "Lana, how I hate those guys!," the part in "Cola" when she goes high, "Pushing up my (moaning) in your face, in your face" and "by my saviOUR!" so much.

VegasBaby 895 Posted March 1, 2013 the backing vocals on the first verse of Off To The Races Yeah. The whole song, the production, the backing, the instruments..is perfection. I also love the backing sounds of when she sings "the way I roll like a rolling stone" in the second verse. I'm not sure what that effect is but it's really awesome. 1 Quote Sweeping scents and blue hydrangea. Summer hail and summer stranger.

Hello Heaven 1,578 Posted March 3, 2013 I think I'm going to have to have yet another Lana marathon and list the best parts for me because I could think of a few now but there's always one thing about a song by her which is so amazing that I can't even describe it.
ExoticFlower 892 Posted March 3, 2013 The intro of million dollar man: "You said I was the most exotic flowah" The scarlet starlet in off to the races - I just love the way her voice pitch at the top. "Kissing my fruit punch lips in the bright sunshine" in Lolita. Her breathy voice in American "Like an American". I absolutely love the "only seventeen, but she walks the street so mean" in Carmen. Mmm... and the southern drawl in the "kitty cat" part of Queen of the Gas Station. The "a sway of the hips" part in oh say can you see absolutely slays me every goddamn time

Rafael 3,512 Posted March 3, 2013 I was going to do my homework, woops. Embrace yourselves: VIDEOS: Video Games: At 0:03-0:05 The way she just naturally blinks at the camera. I remember the first time I saw that particular moment I just... Born To Die: The whole video really... But at the ending when Bradley is holding Lana in his arms. It's so graphic yet so morbidly beautiful. Blue Jeans: The first 30 seconds of the video with that extra melody. I can remember watching the video just for the sake of those 30 seconds. It's just flawless National Anthem: 1:06-1:10 There's a reason why it's my signature. The way she just strokes her hair back, I can't even Summertime Sadness: 3:30 The fall. There's this moment where Lana and Jaime is floating in the air. Time just seems to stop there for a second. And to this day every time I see the video my heart just stops at 3:47 Ride: This song/video always makes me all teary and stuff. I just can't see the video without hearing the lyrics in the beginning and the end. Same goes for National Anthem. I remember the day it came out, I was on my way to school and just as I got on the bus I saw Lana tweeting about it. So I decided to watch it when I got home. I was so excited all day in school to get home I just couldn't contain myself. Finally when I got home I locked the door to my room and boy oh boy was it wourth the wait. I know I'm supposed to pick out that moment in the song/video that makes my heart drop, but I couldn't do that to this song because it wouldn't be fair for all the other clips to this masterpiece. Everything in this video is just too much for me to handle I'm aware I didn't write about Blue Velvet, Carmen and Burning Desire. Nevertheless, they're also perfection LYRICS: Off To The Races: And we're off to the races, places Ready, set the gate is downAnd now we're going inTo Las Vegas, chaosCasino oasisHoney it's time to spinBoy you're so crazy babyI love you forever, not maybeYou are my one true loveYou are my one true love ← Heavenly high pitch that's too much for me to handle National Anthem: He says to "be cool" butI don't know how yetWind in my hairHand on the back of my neckI said, "Can we party later on?"He said, "Yes, yes, yes" [...] He said to "be cool" butI'm already coolestI said to, “Get real,"“Don't you know who you're dealing with?Um, do you think you'll buy me lots of diamonds?” Summertime Sadness: I think I'll miss you foreverLike the stars miss the sun in the morning skyLater's better than neverEven if you're gone I'm gonna drive (drive, drive) This Is What Makes Us Girls: The prettiest in crowd that you had ever seenRibbons in our hair and our eyes gleamed meanA freshmen generation of degenerate beauty queensAnd you know something? They were the only friends I ever hadWe got into trouble and when stuff got badI got sent away, I was waving on the train platformCrying 'cause I know I'm never comin' back. Without You: We were two kids, just tryin' to get out,Live on the dark side of the American dream. We would dance all night, play our music loud,When we grew up nothing was what it seemed. Lucky Ones: (LAST) Every now and then, the stars alignBoy and girl meet by the great designCould it be that you and me are the lucky onesEverybody told me love was blindThen I saw your face and you blew my mindFinally, you and me are the lucky ones this time... (At 3:12 this melancholy tune start and I just ) Cola: Obviously Drugs suck it upLike vanilla iciesDon’t treat me rough,Treat me really niceysDecorate my neckDiamantes icesWhy, come on, come onOoh, ooh, ooh,Ooh, yeah Yayo (AKA): (LAST) Let me put on a show for you, daddyLet me put on a showLet me put on a show for you, tigerLet me put on a show I know, I know. There's this huge debate about the new/old Yayo. In fact I appreciate both of them equally actually. The thing that makes me more attracted to the older one though is the towards the ending when the lyrics above is being read. The tune at about 4:51 in the background just has this compelling tune that makes me wanna EXTRA: Million Dollar Man: I've said it once before and I'll say it again. The day I see Lana perform Million Dollar Man in James Bond is the day I can die peacefully To be continued...
Cleopatra 1,099 Posted March 3, 2013 "I-I wear your sparkle..." Every minute of the L'Album De La Semaine performance of Million Dollar Man. It's so beautiful and when you see the light reflecting from her eyes, she looks so sad and it just breaks your heart. Also love her theatrics and her messy hair is a bonus.
