i was thinking about this today, kinda. in my view the israel thing was infinitely worse & didn't get anywhere near the backlash this did. personally, it was the closest i ever got to unstanning her (and by this i mean downright stop listening to her music) - and tbh if she hadn't canceled the show, even if she did so with a lame ass excuse, i probably would've.
 
not to say she didn't do/say anything wrong this time, but ultimately the victims/targets of her ignorance and tone deafness here are rich, famous, successful women. in the israel debacle she showed a total disregard for the lives of oppressed, colonized, poor civilians & an unwillingness to listen to those who tried to explain to her why it was wrong to perform there.
 
this is not an invitation to discuss the israel-palestine conflict, btw. i've learned my lesson re: discussing politics on lb. my point is that this goes to show how hypocritical and performative a lot of these concerned responses are, how people care so very much when it's a pop culture matter & someone they idolize is being targeted, but not when it affects regular brown people dying in another continent.

I'm not challenging you but I have come to the conclusion this is how Lana is. Maybe tone deaf but more in line with clueless about what results her actions will get. Just like the President who can't stop tweeting no matter how much his inner circle tries to tone him down. I don't think it's an intellectual understanding it may just be wiring. She reacts/responds and has no ability to think it through. My point is that unfortunately this is not the end. Maybe of this episode but I'm sure we'll all be gathered around this campfire at least once again in the next year or so. I'm with you though, I HOPE she doesn't go on any more rants.

Thanks I was just curious. Anytime I have posted a video of Lana I film it with my phone and then upload that. I have an Android and maybe IPhone's have a screen capture feature I don't know.

i really do love this fandom for the most part. some of u are really annoying but most of u are so cool and i love getting to experience these ups and downs together

People criticise Lana on here every day so I don't know what you mean there and Elle seems to be going through real llife problems and doesn't need people dragging out pointess arguments about irrelevant nonsence to her.

Yeah, I'm absolutely not going to be disrespected by you. I sent an apology to a user who had just joined and not even been around for a full hour because I did not want them to get the wrong impression of the site. If you are having an issue with what another user said to you, you can hash it out in the DMs and message me there if you think I need to intervene. We also have a report feature. I saw something I didn't like regarding how the site should be viewed as "learning from the bestest" with "hating Lana as a specialty" from another user, so as an admin and owner who disagrees with that mindset, I spoke up.
Also, I did not delete any of your posts and have no idea what posts you're even referring to. If your posts were in fact deleted, I wasn't the one who removed them. If I ever edit another user's post, I always leave a mod & edit note informing the user that I did.
Don't try to purposely insult me either for something that I did not even involve you at all with. Y'know, I've only been back to LanaBoards for the first time in over a month as I was in need of a serious break from the internet and all that it harbours, and I think if anything you just made it clear that I'm not ready to deal with all you guys and your drama again quite just yet lol. Probably not the best time for me to have popped back in anyway, but I knew a lot was going on and I wanted to stay updated with it. I knew my return now was only temporary due to the news, but frankly I just don't want to deal with this sort of attitude right now as it's not good for me at this moment, so I'm not going to. Behave yourself, kids.

I appreciate the apology. I just didn't like a user's first impression of the site to be the reply you had posted, encouraging hate and stating to "learn from the bestest" in that regard. Just always be cautious of what you encourage to other users, and remember that first impressions matter! x

We have all known the feeling of depression or being down but putting on that happy face for the world. I know Lana has had to do this sometimes just being famous. I am a fan 100% because of her voice and songwriting and sensibility. She is beautiful but I don't have a crush on her and am not "in love" with her. BUT her natural beauty and SMILE is a big part of her mystique or whatever you want to call it. Whenever I see pictures of her smiling it always warms my heart. When she smiled in the "Love" video I remember I was bowled over with happiness. She has that affect on people.  I have said in many of my videos we all just want her to be happy.
