I really like the video, I love that she looks like she's having fun 1 minute and the next she has this face full of sadness. I've been there before when you're trying to get over a break up/heartbreak and your friends are trying to cheer you up, so they take you to do some activities and you're having fun, but then you get this sudden realization or awareness and for a second you remember how sad you are, but then you snap back into it and start smiling because you don't want anyone to notice how broken/sad you are.

They also called Clay her fiancé in the review lol  Like, do your research first, it's not that hard.

Overall they did say a lot of really positive things about her and the album though

I've had a feeling for a long time that the reviews for this album would be a mess. It's a risky album in the sense that it's not necessarily as accessible as some of Lana's other, more popular albums. To me, it's a similar situation to releasing Ultraviolence after Born To Die. Having NFR be Lana's most acclaimed work, and then having it followed by a more mellow album and then after an album where she plays with her vocals (and other things) quite a bit, it can be a shock to a reviewer who's used to the Lana they met in 2019 and that Lana only.

    Mess

They always do 2 reviews, the premature evaluation and the official review but this is fairly mixed and will probably mean they will give the album a 5 or 6

I still need to know who the 3rd girl is by the banisters?! The sunglasses are too concealing!

I REALLY hope she plays BB on colbert friday, it's my fav on the album and one of my favs of all time of hers

There are many things in common between the Arcadia MVs (both of them) and the Blue Banisters one. So I guess we should take the subtle visual hints at a Thunder MV a bit more seriously.

UMMMM… this might be my favorite video of hers?! it’s so peaceful yet moody, elated yet somber. I love it. I love the cake and the painting and the stormy Midwestern vibes of the weather spinner… and you guys were SPOT ON with the foggy atmosphere pics????? I’m so happy she released this today, it seems like it really sets the mood from the album and I can’t wait to hear it for the first time

I think Thunder is related to Blue Banisters in a way. We see heat lightning at the end of the video (and she also talks about it in the lyrics), where lightning is so far away that you cannot hear the thunder. So that man is so far away yet he or his remainders are still right there.

So let's manifest Thunder MV next

I love the music video so much! I feel like it really embodies the entire mood and theme of the album and of course they all look gorgeous
Especially love Lana in the green dress
Also, the stormy weather (reference to Thunder?) showing that its finally going to rain and "wash away the pain"

Anyways the video was very pretty and everyone looked gorgeous, a lil boring but, i feel like it fits the vibe of the song. a big budget mv wouldn’t have really made that much sense for bb. idk what y’all were expecting

This is one of her simplest and most poignant MVs to date. When I first listened to the song, I immediately fell in love with it. Its ambient spacey soundscape; the diaristic lyrics; the deeply emotional outro...everything just clicked. It's so ethereal and poetic, and this MV perfectly encapsulates the themes and the album's thesis. We should pay more attention to the little fleeting moments, and we should find the people who support and love us. Sadness lingers - there are many quick shots of Lana looking very contemplative and melancholy, particularly during the storm scenes and in the closing shot - and we have to live with it, but it's okay as long as we feel safe with the people - and in the places! - we love and care for. I loved the John Deere; the ambiguous bluish gray color; the weathervane; Tex's cameo; the birthday cakes; the modesty.

All four of our album covers for this era are from different "sets"/ parts of the title track music video
