Beat Poetry

I'm French, and I live in a huge city in France. It was very complicated in here, we have a lot of Covid cases, as in many countries. Plus, there was a shortage of masks and hospital equipment. The quarantine ended on Monday (May 11th). Only shops opened, and schools in some regions. But restaurants, bars, theaters and many other public places stay closed until further notice.
 
It's pretty strange. I'm happy I can walk again, cross the streets and see new faces, but people are still strained. Most of the shops don't let people without masks in, and they can't welcome too much people at the same time, depending on the store area. So people are queuing outside.
I wear a mask only when I'm in a store or in a closed space because I wear glasses and it's REALLY uncomfortable as it makes moisture on them when I'm wearing one. (Am I the only one?)
 
I fear a second wave, and I also fear the consequences from this phase. I know a lot of people who fear losing their job or their store, all of those small businesses. The government said they would help them all and that "none business will close down", but it's delusional... And as always, the poorest will pay the price and it saddens me a lot.

hi there! i'm selling the few extra copies of lana magazines that I own. All of them are in near mint condition (excepting maybe the Interview one which has a slight scratch on the bottom left corner, it came like that in the mail - see picture). I'm based in France and I can send them about anywhere as long as it's safe. I took the picture on a hurry so it's a bit blurry, but I can take more detailed ones if needed. I'm interested in the intersectionality of some of these questions. Like I'd love for a way to see how many users are lesbian women, how many of the gay men are white vs. POC, etc. etc.
 
Would also be kinda morbidly curious how people view the recent Instagram controversy though that could probably be done in a regular thread poll and I also sorta don't want to know how many of you are terrible people thought that shit was acceptable.

I remade LDRCondensed aka Philfont/Rainbow. I did a huge lot of tiny improvements to the font drawing quality, added three weights, and interpreted all the punctuation and numbers except the number 1, which is the original design found on Studio Bowden’s website.
 
Why this project?
 
Basically just grew tired of seeing people use Rainbow with its horrible space, its improper 1, and lack of punctuation, and Philfont doesn’t have numbers or punctuation. I also wanted a really clean base font.
 
Disclaimers!
 
Although I worked on it alone, this is 100%, completely, forever free to download. I did NOT made the original font, obviously, Studio Bowden deserves all the credit for it. Lmdr also deserves credit for creating Philfont, which was the basis of my remake.

You can download on my Gumroad! I use this site because it allows me to do updates but unfortunately it requires you to put in your email address. Sorry about that!
 
Want a glyph in particular?
 
Don’t hesitate to ask me! For now there isn’t any accents/diacritics or arrows or things like that, but I could add them in a whip.
 
What glyphs are available?
 
All caps, no lowercase, basic punctuation, numbers, dollar sign and basic math signs.
 
What weights are available?
 
I completely created a light version (-25 pt from original design) and interpolated to Normal and Medium. Medium is a bit thicker than original, which is called Regular here, and Normal sits inbetween Light and Regular. I also exported to a variable font in case you’re looking for a weight inbetween these instances. Handy!

The situation here in Brazil is totally chaotic. 800+ deaths per day.  Our Health Minister was fired by Bolsonaro (our president) for not agreeing with the president's position (who does not agree with social isolation, is encouraging businessmen to protest against the closure of stores, encourages the use of chloroquine that is not confirmed by science as effective etc)
So Bolsonaro put another minister in place and today, less than a month later, the new minister resigned for not agreeing to work under these conditions.
Basically the president (who is not a doctor, scientist or anything) doesn’t trust anyone to be Minister of Health and that’s how my country has dealt with over 800 deaths PER DAY
