With each leak from the dedicated era I'm even more astonished as to why she decided to release Side A just like that when there were far stronger tracks to be added, choices were made! She was an absolute monster this era, so creative, probably one of my favorite sessions along with the Future Nostalgia ones.

On UGH! Moon Friends Stay Respect Dis-ease We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal Outro: Ego Map of The Soul 7 has good songs but was a 19 track album with 5 old songs necessary? and BE has the opposite problem of good songs but way too short and a random skit + dynamite added. So I combined the 14 new songs from MOTS7 + 6 songs from BE to create two albums which somewhat reflect the concepts of 'Shadow' and 'Ego' leading on from their 'Persona' concept they did for another album.

BAR was probably going to be 2nd single and the title track, she decided half way thru the mv shoot to scrap it. the weeknd collab probably finalized around that time and her label was probably much more interested in doing a high budget video for that. i imagine she wanted to use Love to launch everything and BAR as like the second single closer to the album, but when Love leaked early and the album wasn't really ready to be announced they couldn't really do the "big lead single" moment and wanted a weeknd track as the bigger moment to announce the album. but that album campaign changed like every week so who knows
