  2. Josh Kemp as a bassist; recall these lyrics from “Joshy & I” — when you play the bass, I get this feeling….
  3. One of my favourite episodes. Zendaya’s performance was amazing…
  4. The way she says “you used to say that I was beautiful like Cleopatra, but you the king, too, so I would say, back atcha” always got me. It’s so sweet I always thought the same! So many of Lana’s unreleased songs from 2010 remind me of 90s/2000s teen romcoms. Like, I immediately think of Cher Horowitz when I hear songs like this one, Meet Me in the Pale Moonlight, Backfire, Playground, etc.
  5. Another one! You can add this too @bluechemtrails!
  6. A few more that haven’t been posted above yet (included the COTCC video shoot selfie, as she posted it in Jan 2021 despite it being from 2020) -
  7. I love how any drug reference from Lana Del Rey in 2022 feels self-referential
  8. The photo with the mirror, spoons, and key are all antique silver that appear a bit dull. With Rick Nowels allegedly working on the next album, thinking about what that means…
  9. The American Dream in video form -
  10. Here’s more of what she said to Vanity Fair about the Born to Die painting - Later on in the night, I again found Del Rey and asked what it had been like to see Gribbon’s interpretation of Born to Die, which Gribbon called in an Instagram caption, “one of my favorite records of all time.” Del Rey took a breath and said that her music has often been misinterpreted by writers and critics. “My dad always says, ‘Dumb it down,’ but if you listen to the lyrics it’s actually pretty simple,” she said. But a painting in response to an album is not a written review. Del Rey said that she came to terms with the Gribbon work. “It’s hard for me to look at their perspective, and at first I thought it was too sexualized, and too voyeuristic,” said Del Rey. “And then I talked to Jenna, and they said, ‘That’s the way we see it.’” https://www.vanityfair.com/style/2022/01/jimmy-iovine-and-pseudo-controversial-interscope-show-at-lacma/amp
  11. Rob implies that more music with him on the piano is on the way -
  12. I don’t think her bodily expression even warrants an opinion, frankly, and this isn’t even a discussion that should be happening, as it veers into policing women’s — and people’s in general — bodies. Let’s strive for neutrality towards how people present themselves because we are so much more than our exteriors. <3
  13. Me, IanadeIrey, defending the real Lana Del Rey:
  14. I don’t want to be the one to add fuel to the fire ever, but I wouldn’t mind if people (respectfully, of course) let her know that nobody forgot her article from earlier.
  15. Not going to preface this with an “I’m sorry, but…” because I am in no way apologetic, but Iman Sultan writing that article is hypocritical. You do not get to act like Born to Die’s tenth anniversary celebration is something you can partake in when less than a year ago, you were vilifying her lyricism to suit your fake-woke agenda. You were part of the witch-hunt at its peak.
  16. National Anthem was ahead of its time while speaking to lost time. Legend things — one of her most brilliant tracks. Lyrically, it’s genius, and the overall atmosphere is luxe to the nth degree.
  17. I really want to hear what @Trash Magic has to say about today’s special occasion. He always has the best things to say about these early days and makes really astute observations about that time.
  18. Mine is: Video Games Born to Die Blue Jeans Off to the Races National Anthem (and Diet Mountain Dew is a close 6th! The first 6 tracks are classic LDR Americana glamour)
  19. Please do not associate hatred and harmful rhetoric of this kind with Lana Del Rey — especially on the day we celebrate Born to Die’s decade-long (and counting) legacy.
  20. So chaotic lol! I don’t even know how you hack a phone number like that…
  21. Somewhat unrelated, but if you call the Honeymoon Hotline, you get someone’s cover of High By the Beach…was it hacked or do we think this is deliberate?
  22. Lol. Such a trivial and frivolous little comparison but I was instantly reminded of the first image. 2018/2022 <3
  23. You NAILED it. We would all buy these in a heartbeat - perfectly captured the vibe of the records. <3
