    Damn, she's a crazy bitch.

Gives us nothing for 7 months, then gives us a cover, a song she made up in a day, and two more songs with MVs in the space of a week.

She's probably releasing most of the album before the actual release so that she doesn't have a breakdown if it leaks.

I, personally, would definitely have a breakdown if my boyfriend grew a moustache like Chase Stogel's and then my album leaked.

All of you not listening to a new single are the bravest persons I know. I don’t have that strength.

Anyway I'm gonna continue with my shit...
    PreEeEe-cum in my teeth
    From your cock
    You're slapping me
All the thrusts that you did
    In-out, out and in
    To keep fucked
    Till my wit's end
I try to push it out
But you just find your way back in

(Sorry for hurting someone's feelings, hennies)

I think I’m so traumatized that sometimes when I wake up, for a brief second I think “let me check lb to see if she dropped the album date yet” and realize we already have it. Lona, you did it. You fucked me up

Speaking from personal experience: yes this is a valid fear.

Also, when I drive fast (wind in my hair) with the windows down, I can hear my eyelashes swinging, the glue is struggling & the hairs are up. On the highway & I’m singing: ooh baby, no baby don’t come off.

Or “calling from beyond the grave” means her killing her persona of Lizzy Grant off and when her dad sees her now all he sees is LDR and not Lizzy maybe? Meaning the most famous woman he knows. Idk but I like this speculation!!!!!!

Looking for America already getting excellent reviews from NYTimes, Rolling Stone, and Time (among others)

“Written on Monday, teased with a snippet on Instagram that same day, and then released in full on Friday, Lana Del Rey’s “Looking for America” is a rapid-response protest song — following a slew of mass shootings — from an artist whose tortured relationship to an idealized America has always been central to her persona. “Pulled over to watch the children in the park/We used to only worry for them after dark,” she sings, lightly vibrating with anger. What makes this protest so striking is that Del Rey sings about the country’s fall from grace (“I’m still looking for my own version of America/One without the gun, where the flag can freely fly”) with a convincing wistfulness, the sort that jingoists think is all their own.” The New York Times

“The song is as spare and simple as a Sixties folk epistle. Its theme of American travel and discovery evokes Simon and Garfunkel, her voice is as plaintively beautiful as Joan Baez’s, and her ability to turn grim news into potent art is on par with the Bob Dylan of “The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll” or “A Pawn in Their Game.” Those songs were recorded in response to racist violence during the Civil Rights era, chronicling moments of terror amid a rising tide of hope that America was on the verge of historic change and expanding promise. There’s hope in “Looking For America” too, but it’s growing faint, fading into a darkness we may never come out of.” Rolling Stone

“Lana Del Rey has rarely sounded so ethereal and angelic as on “Looking for America,” a lullaby of a song that hides in its delicate acoustic folds a deep melancholy and a timely, gentle protest. “Pulled over to watch the children in the park/ We  used to only worry for them after dark,” she sings. “I’m  still looking for my own version of America/ One without the gun, where the flag can freely fly.” It’s an indictment of the ongoing gun violence in the U.S., a mourner’s attempt at expressing grief. (She said that she wrote it just after the recent El Paso and Dayton attacks, with an assist from Jack Antonoff.) The song is a salve and an attempt at solidarity for a nation continuing to cope. And for Lana, whose artistic image has always been intricately tied to a mythologized Americana aesthetic, it’s a start at reckoning with the darkness she has often embraced.” Time magazine

the NFR songs have a diffrent feel to it then those big productions ala Honeymoon.
and that is a nice change for now!.
all the songs seem much more raw. and not in a cinamatic superficial kind of way. it's still a movie but more a country movie from the 70s rather than a classic beauty from the 50 or 60s like honeymoon . and i love that.
(honeymoon is my fave so far)

With all the new stuff this month I honestly feel like NFR was always slated for this release track but Lana just got excited about MAC and VB and couldn't wait to release them, I don't think she even thought about the fact that we'd be bothered waiting almost a year for the album

Or is Lizzy the artist, and Lana is her brand?

I don't say you have to like everything an artist does. I think it's important to criticize. But if you are really not having this era, why stickaround and male negative comments for the sake of it?

Honeymoon is a mood, I guess. It's mellow, laid-back, melancholic. She sounds so aerial on that one. It's her most «Old Hollywood» record to date, which I love, and it also has a lot of «Mediterranean charm» to it as well. There are so many wow moments that hit you after a couple of times. it is also her most perfect record to listen to when you are working on something else (computer, homework, writing): it puts you in a transe. Her voice is so superb. And I love that it's like nothing that is out there. Listening to UV, it felt as if I had found a lost end-of-sixties vinyl by an unknown singer; with HM, it was as if I had found a 40's-or-50's-diva-starlet vinyl.
