Some of these are much better than some of her album cover art, which I usually find disappointing for an artist of her stature and wealth. 
 
Some also remind me of her early concert and tour posters, which were so hip. We haven't seen anything visual like that from her in a long, long while. Which is very sad and so a waste of opportunity.

perhaps lasso will feature some minor, subtle elements of country music, like the dark, warm guitars featured on born to die, on tracks such as blue jeans and summertime sadness, or perhaps the general sound and cadence of the songs will be reminiscent of country music, sort of like how she described video games and ride as country songs, or, it may be more experimental, taking influence from a variety of different sources, almost like AKA, which undoubtedly features a country, folk, vintage americana sound, in songs queen of the gas station, oh say can you see, raise me up (mississippi south), and pawn shop blues, but even the songs that do not sound country or anything under that umbrella have that sort of feel, somehow, mermaid motel sounds way more reminiscent of the sea, or flashing, neon lights at an amusement park, but it fits in perfectly with the flirty americana of queen of the gas station, or the agricultural vulnerability of pawn shop blues, although she did sneak in a southern accent in the second verse of that one, i think it would be really cool and interesting if lasso felt reminiscent of AKA's wide scope of sounds and influences, vast, yet cohesive

I have to admit, here and there I could barely tell what song she was performing. But her public profile has never been higher and I hope this means Lasso in 3 months.

im absolutely appalled reading this stream of thought. 
 
palestine is not wrong. hamas is wrong, but you absolutely cannot fucking group palestine as a whole into hamas. with all due respect to my lgbtq friends, when you are living in an oppressed and occupied state where death is nigh at any point, gay rights is definitely not the highest thing on the agenda, and that should be a testament as to how unsafe palestine has been for palestinians for YEARS.
 
i think it is a very westernised view to think “But how would i be treated there?” when in reality if you were there, you being gay would not be at the forefront of your mind, being unlawfully arrested and abused at an israeli prison, or killed for no other reason than you are in palestine, would be.

Palestine (more specifically, Hamas) shouldn't be doing the fucked up shit they do. Meaning, kidnapping people, killing LGBT people, etc.
Israel shouldn't be killing mass amounts of people in Palestine or bombing them and killing civilians or burning houses, whatever else they're doing

i don't think what either of them are doing is okay and they're both disgusting, horrible evil fucking places in the world. do we blame civilians? clearly, no. but we should hold their governments accountable (and finally, the ICC is doing just that. will we ever see anything fixed by it? doubtful - they did the same thing for Putin a year or so ago after they started trying to take Ukraine.)
 
But when one does something to the other, it makes sense that the other will fight back. And if they fight back, the other will fight again too. it's a never ending cycle.
 
Parts of the southern US should be defunded in ways that encourage progressiveness (obviously, not important things like healthcare or education.) but to me, the middle east will never "matter" to me in the sense that it's somewhere I'll never be able to go to majority of the countries there and find out about their cultures firsthand. Some middle eastern countries are more progressive than others, but I'd still rather not risk it. That doesn't mean I want a bunch of kids in these countries to die - quite the opposite! I'd rather see them all have chances to be themselves. I'd apply the same logic that I apply here. I want people to be able to live their lives how they want to, without oppression of any kind. Unfortunately, those freedoms don't always exist all over the world and i know that.

Releasing a country album is not an original idea in and of itself; it's one of the most recognizable and oldest of all American genres.   
 
So with luck, Lasso will be released on schedule. 

Nick Drake: The Life by Richard Morton Jack -  at 560 pages, much too detailed and not interestingly told. Biography is my favorite genre; this is the first time I've ever found a biography too weighted by superfluous detail. Not recommended unless your a diehard Drake fan. 
 
Rudolph Steiner by Gary Lachman - Another disappointing biography and overview, and I usually like all of Lachman's books. I'm halfway through and I still have no idea what was important or distinguished about Steiner. Not recommended. 
 
The Devil & His Advocates by Erik Butler - This is a fascinating history and lowdown on 'the satan' in the Bible, who is originally working for God and more of a lawyer than a foe or enemy, (or the Enemy). The book explores how 'the satan' became Satan (and Lucifer, etc.) due to the Book of Revelations and the influence of various Middle Age sources, including Dante's Inferno and Chaucer, and how Hell, Purgatory, etc. are not found in the Bible but were essentially products of later centuries. Not an academic book, it's intelligent and stimulating. Recommended. 
 
A Mystery of Mysteries: The Death & Life of Edgar Allan Poe by Mark Dawidziak - Not quite a biography, the book focuses on the mystery of what actually caused Poe's relatively early death--Rabies? Alcoholism? A 'brain fever'? Murder? A brain tumor? Syphilis? Heart disease?--or any of the other theories that have been put forward over the decades. It goes back and forth in time with each chapter, from the time of his death to his childhood and onward, which occasionally gets a little confusing. I'm enjoying it. Recommended. 
 
H.D. [Hilda Doolittle] by Lara Vetter - A book in the Critical Lives series, this is an overview of Doolittle's life; there have been several large biographies of her in the past, and I was hoping for some new information, but there's little here that readers of the previous biographies won't have come upon before. Vetter also adds interpretation and opinion, which is the best part of the book. If you like H.D.'s work and would like to know more about her life, this is not a bad place to start, as it's a concise 207 pages. Recommended for people newly interested in H.D. who haven't read the other two (or more) biographies written about her.

We know she makes offhand and seemingly irresponsible remarks in public and to the media all the time. And we know she changes titles, concepts, schedules, and release dates all the time as well. So I think it's fair to say, based on those facts, that we're at a 50-50 situation, but hope makes me think we're closer to a 70-30 situation.
