Tbh to me it expresses how impatient she is to leave LA - it sounds like the music itself hurries to finish, which goes so well with the lyrics. I love this song so much damn It all sounds so warm I don't know how she did that. Am I having a hot flush listening to it or does anyone else feel the same?

I don't think people care about her enough to dislike her tho. All I've seen is her own fanbase criticizing her, which I think is even worse imo.

There's nothing inherently wrong with the picture; it's just that she's usually so private so it's like why is she being her own private paparazzo
    It's odd (but harmless).

Happy birthday, Born to Die! I remember the first time that I heard "Video Games" and "Blue Jeans" before the album was released, and knowing that I came across a trailblazer. While I have moved forward from the lyrical atmosphere of this record, I must say that every track still feels unique and fresh to this day. A timeless classic.

But it's not weird...right?  it looks like some cute interaction with her fans to me

No, it does not. But that also means not everything she says/does is to be taken literally. It's obvious she's using metaphors and imagery and is not the personification of multiple archetypes, narratives, ideals and the glamour of multiple historical eras. Plus it's not as if it a fictional narrative would be worth less than an autobiographic one.
The only boring thing here is your personal attacks btw. Maybe it's you who is projecting and not me

You acutally believing anythign she writes/sings is a direct representation of her life - which is accidently a represantation of multiple archetypes, ideas and role fantasies is a pedestal. Apart form that you completely deny her any form of actual agency in her artistry.
She literally roleplayed Jacky Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe, a bike-riding prostitue, Mary, Eve and Malena.
She obviously got inspired by Priscilly Presley and the Lolita-movie-adaptations.The West Coast mv is a reference to an old Chet Baker documentary.
She's in love with romanticised concepts like Old Hollywood and the American Dream. All of her home-made movies are full of that kind of inspirations and fantasies.
And all of her poetry-work is extremely focussed on vintage-typewriter visuals and Sylvia Plath.
She's an artist, so obviously she DECIDED to do all of this, because she likes the respective visuals/sounds/vibes and thinks they reflect her own feelings or serve as a good metaphor for her own experiences.

Let me guess - you are part of the over-delusional Twitter/Instagram-stan brigade
Instead of putting her on a pedestal you could just acknowledge her artistic capabiities as a writer and creator.

I hate when people say this shit. She draws from personal feelings and experiences but ... she's an artist. Obviously there is a lot of metaphors, imagery and symbolism. Apart form that, she loves archetypes and will constantly use them. And it's not like she has not borrowed from historic people like Marilyn or played role-fantasies like the trailer-park-girl, the GoGo Dancer and the rich golddgger-wife.If you really take that literally, you have a very flat understanding of art and writing

Do you really think she fucked her teachers, was a gogo dancer who cooked cocaine in the kitchen while her daddy ran around with guns in Miami while he tells her that her pussy tastes like Pepsi??? And she's ended up in Rikers Island once already?

If you're gonna use the "i believe every word she says in every piece of work she does" card, maybe you should listen to when she says "I like to make up stories about my very cherry bomb"

Point is-- she's a story teller. Not everything she ever writes is going to be true 100%. There may be some truth in it, but being an artist means you get to have fun with what you write and do. She's said this actually a few times. Things like this could've been another meaning to them, considering we don't know much about her mom, this could've been her playing as her mom. Who knows. We know they have a shitty past.

That song is about a girl who’s cheating on her boyfriend with numerous people, hence, it makes him feel like he’s “on lockdown like a penitentiary” - he feels imprisoned by his cheating partner. I wouldn’t call someone who is upset about being cheated on an “incel”.

I still think Groupie Love is underrated.
We all asked for a BTD throwback, we got it, and we slept on it. It's one of the few collabs I can't criticise, and I don't even like rappers very much.
I love the instrumental a lot. Its so clean and unique.

in general i think people have got to stop acting like celebrities are supposed to be unproblematic, woke, and all-knowing because it's unfair and unrealistic

It's definitely a bit tiring seeing so many people repeatedly tell Lana how she should do things and who she should be. I get that she's not handling everything that well, but she's also her own person, not a child, and if she's choosing to lash out right now then maybe it's what she mentally needs to do. My friends tell me to stop calling 911 on the culture, but it's either that or I 5150 myself.

The media and the general public have been extremely unkind and unfair to her since the beginning of her career and we can't imagine what kind of effect that has had on her, mixed in with the insanity of fame. We know that she's a very good intentioned person who's doing her best, but people have decided that her best isn't good enough for them, and are treating her brutally as a result. The amount of awful things people have said about her online since QFTC (and long before that) is insane. I even saw her photoshopped into the Capitol riots on Twitter which is just so disrespectful to both Lana and the severity of the riots.

She's not perfect, but nobody is, so I think people need to relax a little and just let her be authentic to herself, even if she can be messy. At the end of the day, she never actually says anything awful. She delivers her points in poor ways sometimes, sure, but those who take the time to understand what she's saying can clearly tell that her intentions are good and her points are valid. Silencing her is offensive when she's really not that problematic overall, and I for one am interested in her perspective on things. I would love for her to learn to ignore all this shit about her, or to apologize and clarify her points more clearly when need be, but if that's not what she can do right now then so be it. She's been telling us that she's wild and crazy since day one. I'm just grateful for the art and the journey that she's taking us on, and will accept her for who she is.

UGH I cringed so bad at her comment. Another great example that being fake woke is even worse than being woke.

I feel like it also says a lot about Lana’s life too! I can imagine she’s had a life that has posed a lot of challenges and so her first few records were her working through those things - and she even said she wasn’t necessarily happy with her story up until a certain point in the LFL era; she was just chronicling things as they were.

I love all of Lana’s records so much but I definitely find myself resonating with her newer records as she puts them out because I personally find that I move with her. I think Lana has definitely implied that she’s in a much lighter place than she was when writing her first four  records so of course the way her life is at a given moment will translate into her records - hence, the more “natural” presentation of NFR.

I’m grateful for all her albums and love the journey she’s taken us on but I’m also happy that she’s expressed being in an overall more casual place where she can feel even more free to do what she wants (even though she kind of always did)!

Same. I cringe the most at the lyrics but it's also boring sonically. Those lyrics are emo middle school girl's diary-tier.

If he's a serial killer then what can happen to a girl who's already huuuurt

I can't even handle the chorus; it's really cringey and obnoxious to my ears.
