I think it's a mistake to call a production "subpar" as if it were something objectively quantifiable on a certain scale. It's an art that we're talking about here: there is no such thing as a perfect production in the absolute, it wouldn't make sense in that it's not an end in itself.
 
This kind of argument reminds me of those made in the 19th century by the defenders of the academic style against the nascent impressionist movement: visible brushstrokes, garish colours... Nothing to do with the impeccable precision of classical paintings.
 
Because in the end, whether in painting or music, it is not the so-called perfection of the production that counts, but the emotions transmitted. A more messy medium, which looks less worked but in fact is just as much or even more worked, can bring a lot of depth to a music.
That's precisely what I like about NFR. That impeccable minimalism, the balance between silence and instruments that yet gives a warm and rich sound. The relative imperfection you criticize in the album, to me, it creates more closeness between the listener and the music, as if I was in the studio with them. It brings me closer to the emotions.

How to disappear's production's so excellent. The way the beat kicks in so abruptly, it gives me that buzz. It has the most character out of any of the NFR songs imo. It's messy in the best way. It's so ahead of its time, it amazes me how people would rather just have a simple piano over her soft vocals, that would make Too much sense, that would be too safe. They were more experimental w it and it paid off, some people just aren't able to recognize it cause they lack Taste, they do, they lack it. It's such a controversial track, but it's a discography highlight, it truly is. The transition from Cinnamon Girl's outro to Htd's intro, like, the excellence...

This is what happens when you change your stage name and decide to say fuck it to the fans...
 
I just can't understand how bad and basic she's become. Everything since after Froot has become watered down and is way too simple'n'safe.Christ it makes Lana look extremely experimental in comparison.
 
The only tracks I like from Lifeless + Forever Boring are Handmade Heaven , To be Human and End of the World. Mainly BC there the only tracks that still feel like the OG version of herself.
 
Her new track is so shit that it breaks the fabric of time and space causing the universe to collapse in on itself. I haven't been this disgusted by a track since Me! By TayTay's cringe inducing "sPElling iS fUn KiDs" line.

Lana never intended to become famous in terms of doing TV shows, or even awards shows.
 
Y’all have to understand that she’s only about her music. The bling around it doesn’t mean anything to her. As long as Interscope pays her sessions; she’s fine.
 
There’s not a single song in her official discography that isn’t good. She constantly delivers quality music
 
The fact that I‘ve been listening to her since 2011 is incredible. Usually I’m not attached to artists for such a long time since the music gets?“boring“.

En soi, pour moi, cet argument veut juste dévier du sujet initial, et c'est dommage. Quand je publie que Rorman est particulièrement obsédé par la vie personnelle de son idole qu'il juge à travers un sectarisme politique particulièrement malsain, ça fait tout autant partie de la discussion. Et je ne veux faire taire personne ici, ça alimente la discussion.
 
Aussi, rien à voir mais, c'est terrible d'avoir l'impression de "partir en guerre" quand on n'est pas d'accord avec quelqu'un. On ne fait que de discuter. Quel ennui d'être toujours d'accord !
