I miss when all that’s real to her was halloween and jesus

I hope after this record she will stop trying to appease people and go back to making controversial or provocative music again, it’s really where she shines. any alt/indie pop girl could’ve done cinnamon girl, but only lana can make ultraviolence

This is the thing that really gets me... I'll probably always be a fan of her work and check on the new stuff she releases, and I also don't want to contribute with too much negativity on here because I know there are people who feel differently, BUT whatever it was that she used to have in terms of vision and creativity and that thing you can't put your finger on no matter how hard you try, it just isn't there in the same sense anymore. I would've loved to read some poetry from around the time she wrote the Ride monologue, or even anytime before 2015. There are parts here and there of Violet that I like, but overall it felt more like confirmation that the "magic" isn't really there anymore.

Probably gonna get some hate for this, but after Honeymoon, her albums have been mediocre at best.

LFL had some top tier songs (Cherry, TNC, Heroin), but lacked something overall. I think my main disappointment with that album was how she was falsely projecting this 'happy girl' image which I could easily tell wasn't genuine. Also the concept for the album was good, but didn't come to fruition because of lack of cohesiveness. There I was thinking it was going to be a hippy-folk-tambourine-daisy kinda deal but instead it was something much much watered down. Obviously aesthetics aren't the key to a successful album, but it does help paint a picture for the listener to connect with the music on another level.

NFR was also okay, but easily forgettable. Most of the lyrics seemed to serve as shock value ("You fucked me so good that I almost said 'I love you"), and the production was messy (I think this was the sound engineer's fault tbh). I don't think BAR truly belonged on the album, and she messed up HTD big time. The Greatest could have been a better song had she not name dropped Kanye. There's just too many inconsistencies with the tone of the album.

Basically these two albums have been wishy-washy and all over the place. We all know politics isn't Lana's strongest point, and I feel like that's where her art took a bad turn because political topics tend to age, and when you put it in song, those songs will age along with it.

For COCC I do have high hopes, perhaps because nothing is being spoiled and she seems to be working with promising people this time around. When I listened to the TJF snippet, I felt delighted that she was getting back in touch with her Alabama Lizzy persona a little bit. Singing about what she used to, and it doesn't seem like she's trying to 'impress' anyone lyrics wise. Just singing from the heart.

The more time goes by- The more I feel like this album will have a vintage western aesthetic,
I want some dramatic Black & White music videos for this, With some cute girls and cowboys in the videos too please. - Vintage western lana would be so cool. Ride vibes.

Okay everyone, unfortunately, the rest of the updates will have to continue tomorrow.
We’ve done all we can do for now with what’s available to us currently, and we’ve been in a bit of a waiting game to be cleared before beginning the rest of the update phases. I am prioritizing safety over time in this situation, as it is of my upmost importance that nothing goes wrong during these updates. We need to wait a bit longer for every single bump to be completely smoothed out to prepare to begin the software script update. We did make some great behind-the-scenes headway today during Phase 1, so please don’t be too discouraged, there’s just a few more things we need to get settled before beginning the big software script update, and Melly & I have sort of no choice but to wait out the time until everything is set for takeoff. It doesn’t seem that we’ll be ready to start the main update any time tonight, so we will resume updates tomorrow. The site will remain online until then, and I will update you all tomorrow for when we will be offline.
My sincerest apologies for this delay, and thank you guys so much for being patient and hanging in there during this complicated process x

I think I love this song a little more with every year that goes by -- it's gorgeous and such a slow-burner; definitely one of her best unreleased imo
