I'm interested in the intersectionality of some of these questions. Like I'd love for a way to see how many users are lesbian women, how many of the gay men are white vs. POC, etc. etc.
 
Would also be kinda morbidly curious how people view the recent Instagram controversy though that could probably be done in a regular thread poll and I also sorta don't want to know how many of you are terrible people thought that shit was acceptable.

Yes, but it's clear that she's aware of the underlying sentiment which was that name dropping WOC in the context she did was problematic. Instead of examining why people might think that, she's just dismissed all of it because she had "good intentions". Well guess what, Lanz ... the road to hell is paved with those.

lol did you read anything i said? i’m talking about misogynoir and not separating racist attacks from misogyny because they’re two issues that intertwine with each other. it’s a delusion to think you can separate the two issues when talking about black women because they constantly overlap, but it’s even more of a delusion to think that lana faces more misogyny than any black woman ever.
just because someone’s sitting at the top of the charts it doesn’t make then exempt from criticism lmao. charts positions are down to the younger generation that streams them, not the hags who criticise the music.

She’s, at best, a very vapid airhead who lives in a bubble with a bunch of other vapid airheads. She likes to tell herself she’s woke and culturally aware, but she isn’t.
 
I always knew that, but I never thought she’d go on such an unprovoked, tone deaf rant like this. And I’m really disappointed.

i think most of her hardcore fanbase knew that she was fairly ignorant, it's just she's been put on full blast by everyone now

disclaimer: i don't think the name-dropping pertains to this issue, i just have found her feminism talk to be inane and disingenuous. i don't think she cares about women, she cares about public opinion of her more than anything.

As huge fans on a forum dedicated to her, I'm sure most of us are familiar with those. But she stooped to a WHOLE new level of low with the recent commentary. 

It's definitely left a bitter taste. I've lost all respect for her as a person.
I couldn't even bring myself to listen to her new little spoken word poem she put out...
And I mean, I've seen her live many times, I've met her once. I've listened to her for countless hours while painting.
It's just disappointing that her true colors could be so dark.

I just really wanna know if this situation was the one which showcased lana's ignorance clearly to some people? I mean... she literally used to call herself the "ghetto Nancy Sinatra", and remember the Israel situation? Or how she said everything was good under Obama lmfao. When you think about her posts they don't really come as a shock, but did people seriously not realise how oblivious lana really is until now?

Her poetry book title about iron gates and the institution...she spent some time in a mental hospital?
 
In 48 hours she single handledly ruined her reputation irreparably. I’m kind of sad about that.

It's taken me a few days to process that her statement really was anti-feminist and racist.
 
I know this is something we are struggling to process in the fandom, but it is what it is - EVEN if it hurts to admit. I hope she cuts the defensiveness and spends the lockdown getting informed and READING.

If Lana posts another statement I'm out. She's free to say whatever she wants, but I'm not here for how seemingly bitter and tone deaf she's been. Completely hoping she stops/doesn't post anything related to this mess again (unless it's a well thought out explanation)
