If she doesn't want to be a sex symbol she should stop putting herself on her album covers? wth why can't she have a normal album cover like everyone else, none of them were ever particularly sexy anyways. And I don't think her selfies are ugly at all, just more natural, although I also miss the glamorous eras.

Yeah, I'm absolutely not going to be disrespected by you. I sent an apology to a user who had just joined and not even been around for a full hour because I did not want them to get the wrong impression of the site. If you are having an issue with what another user said to you, you can hash it out in the DMs and message me there if you think I need to intervene. We also have a report feature. I saw something I didn't like regarding how the site should be viewed as "learning from the bestest" with "hating Lana as a specialty" from another user, so as an admin and owner who disagrees with that mindset, I spoke up.
Also, I did not delete any of your posts and have no idea what posts you're even referring to. If your posts were in fact deleted, I wasn't the one who removed them. If I ever edit another user's post, I always leave a mod & edit note informing the user that I did.
Don't try to purposely insult me either for something that I did not even involve you at all with. Y'know, I've only been back to LanaBoards for the first time in over a month as I was in need of a serious break from the internet and all that it harbours, and I think if anything you just made it clear that I'm not ready to deal with all you guys and your drama again quite just yet lol. Probably not the best time for me to have popped back in anyway, but I knew a lot was going on and I wanted to stay updated with it. I knew my return now was only temporary due to the news, but frankly I just don't want to deal with this sort of attitude right now as it's not good for me at this moment, so I'm not going to. Behave yourself, kids.
The rules are PM'd to every user upon joining and are also pinned under the Help & Support section if you would really like to review them.

I appreciate the apology. I just didn't like a user's first impression of the site to be the reply you had posted, encouraging hate and stating to "learn from the bestest" in that regard. Just always be cautious of what you encourage to other users, and remember that first impressions matter! x

I don't think it's the Grammies, I think it's that she got those amazing reviews for NFR from critics who used to shame her for her past lyrics and for being too 'stereotypically feminine'. I don't remember her name but there was one critic in particular who she attacked on Twitter when her NFR review came out because that same critic had been super shitty to her in the past. Same with Anthony Fantano btw, it's ironic seeing his video on her statements when he's one of the people she's talking about.

"I don't find her as attractive as when she was dressing like a beauty queen and therefore her selfies are intentionally ugly and serve no purpose" shut up lmao

I want "Grenadine Quarantine" and "If this is the end...I want a boyfriend" but with dark, glamorous production like Honeymoon

But yeah, I think if she released a song now the hate would start all over again, she probably just wants to lay low for a while

I think she got cut off from her parents money in NY. They probably didn’t 100% support her music career and she was leading her life in a way they saw as damaging.

I do think her parents had money, but she didn’t when she was living in NY. Especially considering her $15k credit card debt.

However, 5 Points Records owner David Nichtern - who first signed Del Rey back in 2007 - has defended the star and insisted there is a lot of "misinformation" that surrounds her story.
Talking about accusations that Del Rey's father paid for her career, Nichtern told MTV: "Nobody even fact-checked. For example, her father never had anything to do financially with supporting her creativity.
"I don't know if he was lending her money to live off of, but at least when she was with us, not a penny. I don't know if he's rich or not; I met him and he seemed like a pretty ordinary guy."
"But that whole thing that she was backed by her millionaire dad is a bunch of crap, basically. Certain facts about the record she did with us are completely misshapen."

I don’t think this was serious enough for her to be blacklisted from the industry/movie soundtracks etc. People will forgive and forget like they usually do unless she says something dumb again. I think she should just keep her head down and it’ll all be back to normal in a few weeks.

Yes her mom was a teacher and teaching positions are notoriously underpaid and treated like crap int the USA. I don't feel like Lana grew up in a castle. She grew up with fortunate circumstances and comfortably for sure, but to pretend like her dad was a wealthy beyond belief is basically like regurgitating what was said by the very same critics she called out in her letter to the "culture", back when she "first" came on the scene.

Which also makes me wonder how Rob felt when people were using that dumb rhetoric to drag Lana early on.

Agree, there could be a real problem there but why make it public and do it so blatantly when we don't know the details. Either she could have said what her relationship problem is with her mum and then praised Candace as a sort of mother who has helped her instead she just made it really obvious she doesn't like her own mum but gave no reason. It's something that she could make public or keep private but to hint to problems and leave it open doesn't really help anyone.

Imagine them still being friends despite Ariana talking her into featuring on Don't Call Me Angel.
But in seriousness, yes, I think they would have had a chat and Ariana would have declined to comment. Lana probably took offence to that, definitely something led to the unfollowing.

It looked great but it will never be one of her best because besides from the into with the knives, the rest of the video was totally meaningless just cute looks and dancing, it didn’t add anything, no kind of new understanding, to the song. And there was no storyline or exposition like even stupid love had.

Damn.. Doja come for Lana yesterday (tho I'm still confused on what Gang Sunk That Dunker even means in English), but that shit didn't end well for her today. Of course none of the Twitter Doja drama of today, has anything to do with Lana, but voodoo is in full effect apparently

The persona LDR projected in that era was of a strong, masterful individual who was in control of herself and her career, despite the presence of 'sad' songs like the BTD title track and G&M. Even in the BTD title track, she projected strength and confidence, as she did in 'Cola,' 'Ride,' 'Video Games,' 'Summertime Sadness,' 'American,' 'Bel Air' and others. She was capable of writing and delivering witty, 'light' songs like 'Radio' and 'Hollywood's Dead.'

Look at the perhaps tongue-in-cheek 'Paradise' cover art, and all of the publicity photographs of her released then, including the nude British GQ cover, where she was elected 'Woman of the Year.' She was, for 18 months or so, an international style icon.

Perhaps that was all an act, and it does seem from the perspective of 2020 that it was, but it was pretty convincing at the time; it captured the attention of the world.

This is actually funny to me rn. We know that those are 14 years old who are typing „she’s over”, „ended herself” etc. They don’t even know how the real life works and trying to make them feel better by „cancel” everyone. Stan culture is one of the worst things that has heppened to us bc those kids think that they are priviledged to say whatever they want and don’t even think about concequences.
From what I’ve heard they have been discussing her mental health...

I sadly agree with everything on here. I feel like while trying to push Lana towards creative/artistic highs, there was definitely tension whilst recording/producing Ultraviolence... but I think it paid off. We could argue about the pros and cons of this kind of creative dynamic, but I feel like, like you said, it turned out to be a "once-in-a-lifetime" album. I think they both alluded to fighting over certain aspects of the record, but ultimately dancing together to it.

On the other hand, I feel like Jack is the exact of opposite of Dan. He just gives me this "Yes" person vibe. Nothing wrong with that, but like I said earlier that doesn't seem to be very challenging artistically speaking. Hence why I initially felt a little iffy about Jack having his hands all over LDR7, like it was going to be a continuation of the beige sound/aesthetic we had on NFR. Though, time will tell, with Lana's recent Instagram antics... I feel like there is some negative/chaotic energy that's been repressed on her part that she actually will devote into her art.
