idk i just worry that the general public & critics won't get it  i feel very protective of my favorite album

great, it must have been a great moment!, I like your love for the years Lizzy, I also love those years / era very much, and of course kitsch too!

it wasn't on shuffle, but it was kill kill, i started the song the second the clock striked midnight & i listened to the entire album

That's iconic !, really one of the highlights of the born to die era, as in an alternate reality where Lana is the daughter of Frank Sinatra (Nancy), but involved in her dad's business, or well maybe more openly

They trampled her dreams and mocked her, and she broke. and now, her revenge is like leaving the equation, where she takes all that's good with her away, putting all of that love back to herself and what she cares about. 

it's an album that's big on self-respect and reclaiming one's self. 

she wants to continue sharing thru music, left social media to then having a private account. 

it's like she's saying, hey i'm here, but only for those who care enough to actually want to get to know me and see me for me, nothing else. 



and then what adds more to the record is that it's just so stable and solid enough to be her last record. as a long time fan, i'm having trouble thinking about what her next step might be for the next record if what i'm theorizing above is true. because this is such a beautiful and just response to the outside, and a more intimate answer for those who've stood/listened to her for the longest. I KNOW this record is going to be remembered as being something pivotal in her career, even past it's beauty. 

i've always been the sort of person to sort of peer into someone's perspective first than my own to understand them better first than forming opinions, so connecting and understanding her work past the upfront was and is a real extra genuine pleasure. this album just wraps so much of what her public professional career has been the past years. for those wanting more on lush and intricate production, as enticing as that'd sound, the atmosphere, personally, and from a cultural standpoint/counterpoint perspective, I think blends perfectly for it's own. I read somewhere that reduction is actually an act of mastery, and she does so beautifully w holding and creating the space she does w this album. 

ofc I'd love to hear more music and projects from her, but for me, like how she's shifted from NFR to making listeners shift their way of listening to her music from more grandiose, direct fashion, to a more contemplative and immersive delicate place NFR onto COTCC, to now the very much more tenderly-charged, tender BB. I know a lot of people might've not noticed, but this all gives the kind of experience and feelings when getting to start actually knowing someone, to then having them disappear. as a fan, it's truly heartbreaking to know that she's been through so much to have to have raced through all this, but makes me even more happier that she's able to start moving past it. 

I hope she keeps sharing the beautiful and unique pockets of universes that she does w her work. a lot seems to be answered already, but maybe some more movie soundtracks, maybe even directing? the poetry's still very much gladly welcome. and of course maybe she'll get to better write the album of her dreams, that'd really be something. maybe more gradually and little nods. 

I'm real happy to know that we've been part of and get to experience her career like this firsthand. Universe pulled and is pulling through wow ah

i guess cause most of my best memories of my life basically revolves around the Lust for Life era. I had the best time with this album & this period speciafically. I know most stans hate it but for me, this era was a celebration of life literally: A 16-track album, beautiful out-of-this world visual, futuristic vintage (the O.G future nostalgia) concept - We were super spoiled.

can we please stop comparing every album of hers to nfr, its getting obnoxious, we get it yall have better music taste and critics thought it was her best move on
 

But one day down the road of history, they'll be seen as the Pop Princesses they are, and Lana will be a Legend, an artist's artist, which they certainly are not.
 
Right now, Lana does have a world of fans, literally. Those that can only follow vapid commercial trends, the loss is theirs. Let them sleep on.

yeah i see the album as a story of a young girl desperate for fame and willing to do anything to have it. it talks about traumatic things in a """pretty""" way but isn't that just her way of seeing it? i wonder how people can't view these songs as criticism rather than romantization

One day, on my way up the ribbon snapped and I fell 15 feet on to a fire pit. I broke my ribs and never told anyone except my mother. Last year I stopped into a Unitarian church and and a man came up to me out of the blue and told me he was a clairvoyant and that the reason why I had a shallow, breathy voice was because I had fallen out of a tree house 15 years ago. I still can’t get over how strange it is that he knew that.”

Maybe newer fans don't know this yet, but Lana actually has released albums before 'NFR!'–better ones too. 

i hope her next three are all unreleased leaked songs just to spite all them assholes 

I record music myself, if people knew how long it takes to write record produce a single throwaway song, she’s unbelievably prolific!

we'll just create lizzyboards instead 
 
all of the lizzy grant stans can live in peace without being told that nobody wants to hear laptop demos or being told that aka is her worst album when in reality it's her best 

when she reworks queen of the gas station for ldr9 and leaks the original music video from 2008!  

I have a theory about BB and the next album(s):
She's telling her story with this coming record and she even took old songs that made sense so it's almost like a little compilation of her life (like she said, it's where she was, where she is now etc.).
She's had enough and wants to go out with a bang. After BB she will have nothing left to prove commercially or critically so I think this is a "farewell" album. She's not retiring of course but I expect a complete shift on her music and new stuff (like she said when deactivating her socials).
The cover album is going to be the record that closes this Lana era we know and love. There's nothing more "Lana" than covering old classic songs.
LDR9 is the Mike album (unless he's the producer of the middle part of BB that we don't know about) and she said earlier this year that she was already writing and recording the next record (even though BB was changed she only picked different unreleaseds and scrapped LYTAN but I don't think she recorded new material for the final version we'll hear this month).
LDR9 is going to be a wild ride. I'm so excited to see what's next.
