Cliterally... no one is saying Annie is a bad interviewer for it but that is how the interview went! But I guess Lana said what she wanted to say and the consequences of that are that people are going to feel however they want to feel about it.

The entire fandom and people on here today have said that her points are alright most often it's just that she brings them across terribly. Not all of her points are great, some are very insensitive, but sometimes her point is very inoffensive but worded terribly and make people confused about her statements. Her point about the press twisting words is legit, the way she went on about it was very messy and half of it unnecessary. Her point about being wrongfully questioned and heavily criticised during her early years is valid, the way she went on about it terrible. 
 
Someone telling her saying X is bad because it evokes this or that or makes it seem like you have X intention would maybe also be a start to her realising how insensitive and detached from the world she sounds sometimes.

The biggest disappoint is that Annie didn't get to ask about the covers album or about the poetry - actually before the interview started Annie said that Lana had a book of poetry "dropping soon" ?? . I assume whoever organised the interview would've provided her with some talking points hence Annie being totally caught off guard and being unsure how to navigate away from the racism defence, but the segue for this would've been her 2020 question, and then the only time music got brought up was when someone at that exact moment felt the need to interrupt the entire interview to fix a chimney.

Of course Annie got uncomfortable as it went on, but people are acting like Lana turned to politics completely unprompted while Annie tried to discuss the music. Asking about 2020 is a loaded question, of course she's going to get into politics. She just didn't do it in as streamlined and concise of a manner as people would have liked, but her points were totally valid and she has every right to express them.
 
Complex is too major of a publication for total trash clickbait headlines like that, especially given the long relationship they have with Lana. It was completely disrespectful and tasteless.

Even if she got a PR person it doesn't change the fact that this is what she's actually thinking at the end of the day, to the people who are so bothered by it... They'd just rather be ignorant to it. I'd rather hear what she thinks and has to say and I admire her candor even if it rubs people the wrong way. It's very lame that celebrities are expected to shut up or make inauthentic statements about things to appease the majority. Even if she was a complete piece of shit (she isn't), I'd rather know...
As for burning bridges, she clearly doesn't care so why should anyone else? I agree that as a public figure it's probably not best for your mental health to read and respond to every single thing said about you, but she should be allowed to defend herself especially when media publications are taking her words out of context and I don't think that should necessarily be attributed to her being unwell eitehr. She may very well be for all we know, but we don't know

Lana is getting heat for spitting out a take that’s not a typical “I condemn Trump and leave at that” or the more hypocritical “both sides” that Matthew McConaghey, Chris Evans etc were doing. This take isn’t even new from Lana. She talks about it in Violet. 
 
Sociopathy has become a function of American politics. There have been many articles and books written about this angle. 
 

Annie specifically asked her how she feels about 2020, and even said that she asks everyone on the show and gets a wide range of interesting answers. Eventually she tried to redirect to the music, but let's not pretend Annie was like "tell us about the album" and Lana was like "well actually, politics..." Annie even cut her off at one point when she started talking about the music to say hi to her cats. 
 
As for Complex, I don't know how anyone could read their headline and the implications that came with it and think that they were being fair. They knew exactly what they were doing, and they absolutely deserve to be dragged for it.

I think the video clarifies (for me) that she assumes people know where she's coming from (liberal, anti-Trump), and it's a shock to her to be misinterpreted, even though her ambiguous words do honestly leave her open to that. 
 
I wish she would just say, "the sound bites from my interview were misleading; I'm horrified about the attack on the Capitol" and stop there. But I will say, I much prefer angry defiant "fuck you" Lana, because she's still making amazing music. I really worried she might flounce off and not make music.
