Actually, after the acclaim she got with NFR it seems more like she was stressed to replicate THAT. Never before has she been this consistent in sound. 
What I find incredibly disappointing about all of this is that when she had a true vision and passion for her music and art, she was dragged to the pits by stupid critics and even her label. Now she thinks the only way to get critical acclaim is if she releases Folkwhore/Everbore 2.0.

alright let’s be for real…if everyone was positive this thread would be boring. we need a difference in opinions 

we literally heard almost nothing of this album. one song from 16 tracks (or 14). the insiders and the collabs indicates variety throughout the tracklist. we know she doesn't choose the best singles but I'm sure the best is yet to come and this was just a warm up and a very solid one if I'm honest. she'll always deliver piano and ballads on her albums but I don't think this is going to sound like the past 2 eras. she's still experimenting and I'm very positive this album WILL bring a new sound from her
 
 

The exhale at the start of the song has more impact than the entirety of Blue Banisters

Because one can be a fan and be critical of their recent/current output. Stop acting like you have to eat everything up she serves in order to be a fan! There‘s a ton of people here who still casually follow her despite not enjoying her last few albums.
