Does anyone else have a problem with the part of bartender when she goes "bart-t-t-t-"? I love the song but that part just makes me lose my mind. It's the way that you can hear her mouth make subtle whisper sounds. It's like nails on a chalk board to me.  am i just crazy

I understand where everyone is coming from. she does have a past of using latinx culture as an aesthetic. and brown men and women who wear cholo/a style are often associated with gangs, drugs, violence, where she can do it and be trendy and fashionable. I don't think it's worth getting super heated over, but it's just an observation into how celebrities are able to pick and choose aspects of minority cultures for their own liking

that's what im tryna say. if i really wanted to be unnecessarily nit picky i'd go after her head piece from the paradise tour for being taken from south asian culture. but i'm not doing that. it's just that she has an obvious obsession for latina culture in particular that makes the recent look jump out 

it's not the fact that she's wearing a plaid shirt. if any other celebrity just decided to wear plaid one day it would be fine. but lana has an extensive past of pretending to be latina so the look from her insta update just adds to it

why should she even care about her looks in a shoulders up instagram video update. like concerts and red carpet events are a different story. but she obviously just posted this on her way to walmart or something she literally had no reason to go out of her way to look good this. this criticism is so stupid. y'all have been lied to. just because she gained weight (i don't even see it) doesn't mean she's  unhealthy. she's talked about being on unhealthy diets when she was thinner and younger anyways so if anything it makes more sense to assume she's more healthy rn

the name "lana del rey" is perfect and i don't really see anything wrong with it.
 
the recurring chola imagery is definitely off tho. nothing wrong with hoop earings and eye liner but she def over did it and played up some sort of exoticism/racial ambiguity. and her constantly-evolving accent didn't help either lol.
