i'm just confused why her roots are darker despite blonde being her natural colour 

idk if anyones mentioned it yet but her unreleased song Baby Blue Love is probably also about her high school teacher. She once mentioned in an interview that this teacher would drive around with her, and she alludes to that here. The rest of the song obviously takes place in highschool/boarding school too

also because she said she used lemons and sunlight to lighten her hair. only the top layers of her hair were lightened so her hair underneath is still dark. i wouldn’t say her roots are dark, you can see the top of her head they are blonde. but underneath her hair is still dark.
