Although Ellen is not under invsestigation herself per se for this, but rather a couple of execs in her team. People have allege for years that this "be kind to one another" narrative she's been pushing ad nauseam for years is only a mere façade. She's been said to be not so nice and kind of a pain in the ass behind closed doors.

Personally speaking, she always came across as very shady and not that overly friendly to me. There's just something incredibly phony about her.

Ellen Degeneres’s Show is under investigation by Warner Media, for issues regarding “a toxic workplace”. Warner and NBC both claim the investigation has nothing to do with the star of the show herself. Ellen was subject to a viral online campaign in which her past employers/service people who’d dealt with her exposed her bad attitude...she also replaced her union staff with an outsourced company during the coronavirus pandemic.

Right!! That line in the context of that whole track gives me chillllllls. Truly an unexpected and thrilling ending, and it makes me SO excited for Chemtrails.

As someone who grew up in a tudor house near LA (Malibu), added to the fact that I can't go back right now because of covid, "Can I come home now" hits differently

Violet (the poem) reminded me how absolutely important it is to unplug from the 24/7 news cycle, because sometimes it can be so frustrating listening to all this bad news ("everything) and being able to do "nothing" about it....until you realize that a lot of what's in the news is none of our business, and it certainly isn't our problem--and doing "nothing" is the best thing we can do

Releasing the audiobook before the printed one was genius too. I wouldn’t have been half as I moved (I think) if I had read these poems before hearing them

It kinda reminded me of the way Grace Kelly spoke! Velvety, and articulate at the same time is not easy to do

The Witch on the Corner  was actually a children's book from 1966, in which the neighborhood children call the lady who lives on their street a "witch" so often, she actually decides to go out and learn the magic of the dark arts. The kids discover her trying to fly on a broom, and decide to help her master the dark arts, which she eventually does.

I'm not exactly sure what the moral of the story is? "Embrace what they label you?" or "Become who you want others to perceive you as?"

Wow. So incredible. I've always loved Lana's speaking voice - I used to leave her interviews on loop while I would do my makeup in the morning before going out for the day, and I still do. But this will be even more lovely to listen to. I actually love the poems where her vocals aren't crystal clear, as if they're filtered. It sort of reminds me of how thoughts sound in their head rather than when they're spoken. & Jack's accompaniment is so beautiful and adds such a wonderful extra element to the poems. Some of these poems I felt were stolen right out of my throat - or my brain rather, since I've never spoken them. Mostly out of fear, so it's incredible to see how fearless she is to share all of these inner thoughts, more raw than when she strings them into lyrics and melodies. It's so deeply personal, it almost feels like I shouldn't be listening. I know it's not until March, but I already can't wait for Behind the Iron Gates (and Chemtrails too, of course.)

I'm going to listen a few more times before I give a more thorough overall response and ranking, but off of first listen, my top 5 favourites are:
    Happy
My Bedroom is a Sacred Place Now - There are Children at the Foot of My Bed
    Salamander
    Bare Feet on Linoleum
    Sportcruiser
