That's exactly my point. Elizabeth Grant is to Lana Del Rey as Al Pacino is to Tony Montana. Maybe it's a little harder for people to separate Lana because she also wrote/created this and isn't just someone hired for a portrayal, but surely you can't tell me you thought the Ride video was a documentary

I don't think it was a tad bit lol, most of the record was a big fuck you to her most fervent critics. 

i always thought of it as her man telling her "you're pretty when you cry" but sung from her perspective after hearing those types of remarks

i think enjoying a persons music is different to being in a forum literally dedicated to them. you don’t see my ass running to azealia boards bc anna wintour was a bop.

To be fair, all these emo bitches ARE her sons, but she sometimes comes off as bratty about it.
 
But in her defense she DID embrace Billie, marina, etc with open arms.

The Man I Love is my favourite unreleased song, even though it's technically and edit from the Trash Magic demo and not its own proper song. It's been my favourite for years, probably always will be. Next Lana queue I see you at I'll teach ya the dance I do to it when I'm drunk in my room x

hmm i feel you! though it's interesting you say that, cause i actually feel like it's quite busy compared to Lana's other album covers (save for NFR). how do you feel about the font? I know a lot of people hate it

I actually love the Honeymoon cover and truly don't understand the hate

Now that the novelty factor has had plenty of time to wore off, I can definitely call NFR my least favourite (and least played) Lana record. It still has its great moments, but I'm just not as astonished by its perfection as I was with BTD/UV/HM. There's just... nothing pulling me back to listen for more. No sonic universe to immerse myself in. The production is flat and lifeless at times. Her vocals are half-assed.
 
Honestly, her last great album was Honeymoon.
 
Edit: Also, Bartender is the best song on NFR.

I've seen her live before it was the last year, and honestly she sounded amazing idk why maybe cuz she took a break before she came here (UAE)? but that was so magical 
i didn't expect that tbh 

I would see her again if I could but it would really do wonders for her shows if she ditched the heavy backing vocals. And sang louder. I get that her performance quality usually depends on her mood but that isn't really fair to the people who pay so much money to see her.
 
She should give it her all at each show... and even get a little weird and creative with her vocals like she used to in 2012-13.
But it's Lana and we never know what we're going to get so whatever lol

The song really is garbage but I lowkey love Lana's part. It's kind of funny how much she really does steal the entire show

Yea the fillers have changed her face a bit, but some of you really aren’t used to seeing someone putting on weight, ageing, wearing no makeup. Tbh I don’t enjoy people commenting on others looks

yeah i get how it may seem to some like she was really hospitalized (given what we know about her past with substance abuse, the cancellation of the rest of her tour and the odd behavior lately it's not far-fetched to think so), but in my opinion, it definitely feels like she's talking about the institution of hollywood, standards for women, fame, the patriarchy, mental illness or something like that. 

i think institution could've meant the established societal patriarchy rather than a literal institution in the sense of a building. Iron gates could lend to either of these, though. 

The production on NFR was atrocious. Cinnamon Girl is a true victim when it comes to having different volume levels in a song. COCC needs a new sound engineer
