I didn’t hate Sean at first: he was showing up for her, on tour, and they seemed to make a great pair, he was « caring » about her and such. But as time went by and people found out some of his opinions or actions, the least I liked him. Anyways, I’m usually pretty much neutral about her BF: it’s her life and we know nothing of these dudes. The only one I never cared for was the actor she dated before Sean (don’t even remember his name), I didn’t find him attractive at all  
anyways, I hope this album helped her close the « Sean chapter » of her love life.

Stop cherry picking those two lines when she has plenty of tracks with cringeworthy and jarring lines since the beginning of her career.

I definitely hoped for more and surprised; there was almost nothing about the upcoming album. Why is that? Maybe something small and cute because of the award?

I agree that 'A&W' has its Tori moments. In December, I wondered here if it would be a good bookend for Tori's 'Fat Slut.' 'A&W' does have the 'scabs off' rage and self-loathing Tori often expressed and worked through in her first 6 albums or so. Glad you're also a Tori fan. She is one of the artists, like the Velvet Underground, Nico as a solo artist, and Marianne Faithfull that changed my life. 

Count me in. I became an huge fan of Tori, when she was touring with Alanis. 
 
Interestingly my partner said, Lana is in her “Tori era” when she listened to A&W for the first time. She is not a Lana fan but she appreciates her “story telling” and “words” more then before.
