I’ll add to that that Billie and Halsey both have strong pop vibes to their « alt », which helps them get played on radio (by the way, no way Halsey could have released her latest in the beginning, it’s her least «accessible » album to date). Lana is a singer songwriter. What she does is art, with very little consideration in making her songs sound like « singles ». She is bold to keep on doing music that she loves without seeking a commercial sound. And yeah, she is incredibly successful when you line up the facts like you did! 

Lana literally walked so L*rde and H*lsey and B*llie and all these other flops could run… and they STILL tripped over. Not a single female contemporary artist is even in the same league as Lana.

Other fan bases making fun of Lana for doing only 30k when their fave is struggling on there 3rd album.  I’d like to see Halsey or Billie do next to zero promotion, disable social media still sell 200k on an 8th album…them girls would drop fast. 

This and we all know which is the superior album (and discography)

I can't believe how much Thunder is hitting me. I listened to the leak a few times but (unpopular opinion coming), the released version is FAR superior to my ears.

It seemed like she liked the album, but I swear to God, by the way she was acting I got this feeling like she already has another album up her sleeve. she's always miles ahead of herself and we always have no clue about it.

I think it’s “hospitals” 🥺🥺🥺 I truly do - I think that’s why she’s giving such careful consideration to the composition/release of BTIG, because that’s the first time she’ll really tell at least part of that story.
 
Yesterday on the live, she said the poems are “unflattering” to her - since the Guardian’s “I wish I was dead already” incident, I think she knows what a field day the press will have with painting her out to be some kind of irrational lunatic when that’s so far from the truth of mental health situations (which I assume she’s talking about in BTIG given her allusions to it but could be wrong).

It’s crazy cause even in a haze Lana’s intelligence always shines through her projects.. it’s always there. I love how this is an ‘album for the critics’ in a sense that she’s not actually trying to ‘get revenge’ or whatever that means.. she’s just being herself and singing about all the things she loves in the ways she loves to sing them. The drugs, affairs, daddy issues, karmic lineage, astrology, submissiveness, strength/being a woman, being free, America, etc... if you noticed Sean, Barrie, Clay and maybe even K or someone in that era...(the dealer lyric insinuates someone from a while ago.. most likely while she was in NYC) and songs embracing being a single woman and embracing family and friends.. it’s really clever. Just undeniably Lana... also not to mention almost every song mentions ‘Blue’ at one point or another... Lana’s just a blue bird.. you can’t take that away from someone.. so I love how she brings it in and turns it out all by herself. She just stopped giving a fuck and I think that’s beautiful !

For the first time, I cannot choose a favourite song. I have realized that every single song serves such an important purpose on this record, that I feel it is unfair to put them in a hierarchy like that (for myself, personally). There’s such a real merit to this autobiographical edge she’s leaned into, that I know will make it my absolute favourite by far; the writing on it is enough for it to climb to my #1 spot, and the show-stopping vocals and gorgeous, full, pastoral production just drive it all the way home. WOW.  

This album gets better and better with each listen. It really may be my favorite LDR to date. Text Book is such a gripping opener, and each of the following songs goes deeper into her heart and story. I don't care how old the song is, Nectar of the Gods is a masterpiece 

how sweet! i am loving her positive energy these last couple days (ie. insta live wholesomeness, kind comments on barries insta, etc.) It seems like she is in a more peaceful place having gotten this album out there for some catharsis. Maybe being off her public socials is adding to her contentment too. at least i hope so! 
 

I went to Target yesterday and bought the exclusive CD while I wait for the vinyls, but I noticed many of them were broken/cracked . I literally had to go through 10 or so copies before finding a decent one. Then when I went to open it in my car, that little piece of plastic that keeps the booklet in place fell off  I bought a few copies so it doesn't really matter, but I hope this isn't happening in many stores. I'm glad I have it even if it broke; it looks even more gorgeous in person! I had to go to 2 different stores and my social anxiety was through the roof because I had to talk to a few workers at each store, but we made it through besties !! It was well worth it when I got to drive back home blasting Dealer
