Pale Moonlight

After sitting with these songs for over a day, I have to say I do love them all. Blue Banisters might be my favorite, followed closely by Text Book (those gospel choirs my god they add so much), and Wildflower Wildfire (still good, but not as godly as the other two). 
 
I can’t help but feel like the majority of people are projecting their opinions of her on their opinions of these songs because it makes literally no sense to consider them “bad”. Some of the critiques I’ve read are absolutely senseless. (Apart from the mastering which could be a lil better, and the Black Lives Matter line, which I don’t find issue with but I understand why some people think it feels a little weird) 

I mean I wouldn't mind this as the cover tbh just get some groovy font for the title and her name done 

that's how we got the masterpiece of the nfr cover though... we would have 3 bad official covers in a row if it wasn't for interference

bestie i hate to tell you this but they let her get away w the chemtrails cover... any things possible at this point.

I have been reading through the last couple of pages of this thread and I totally get that some of you don‘t like the songs. They have a complex melody, are not catchy on the first listen and not easily accessible. I was struggling too when I heard them. So it‘s absolutely ok if you don‘t like them and if you want share your opinion!
 
But please keep in mind that for some users (including me), this is peak Lana. She has probably never created something so unique and never shared lyrics that are so vulnerable. Sometimes they feel like poetry and after stanning her for ten years I see a new side of her as a person and musician. They also show how she has created her own place in the music industry where no one else can follow her.
 
I hope you consider this before you post „We will never get the old Lana back“ or „why did she work for Mike when it‘s not for a hiphop record“. And that the rest of the album could sound quite different and that it’s too early to write it off.

If you look closely, her name, the album title, and various pictures of her - including the infamous car selfie - are on the newspaper. Edited to mimic the BB video as well. Hope you like it - the three tracks we’ve heard today are absolutely godly so I’m really revelling in Lana’s creative genius <3
 

it doesn't feel like we just got 3 new songs, i guess mainly because there was no announcement from lana herself, like normally she will announce a few days or a week before, or we get a radio premier, with this we basically got all of the hype from an insider, and even after the songs were released we had no promotion of them from lana it's very strange

now imagine if we had these covers as the new lanaboards theme, with 3 different options of course 

I think it’s sad she feels that way about her  But then again, it might be better to move on than try to mend something that is broken. I’m proud of Lana for finding a way to live, knowing it won’t get better.

The way she reduced Patty from her mother to her “father’s wife” lol

Comfortably Numb refers to the Pink Floyd song, and Lithium refers to the Nirvana song. I think that whole verse refers to how she coped with her home life and the music she listened to would influence her own songwriting. 

I can tell this line is gonna f me up one day. “Calling from beyond the grave, I just wanna say ‘hi, dad’” is already a line I’ve claimed, this one will be the next.

If these are just buzz I’m wondering what the lead single is gonna sound like  gonna be hard to top TEXT BOOK.

I have to laugh at people saying it all sounds like NFR again (mainly on Twitter, of course) when it sounds nothing like NFR or Chemtrails. I swear some people hear a piano and decide every song she releases that uses it sounds the same 

I wonder what she means with that:

tbh i don't think the BLM line is problematic, buuuut she's gonna get dragged nonetheless and that makes me sad
