I actually loved all of the collabs, I just simply prefer her solo work. And I don’t want to listen to an interlude over 2 minutes unless it is actually singing 

I really hope there aren’t any features on this record. Ocean Blvd felt like a return to classic Lana (In terms of the entire album being actually newly created music and it being a mix of genres/vibes) expect for the features and lengthy interludes. I hope the next album is just 14-16 tracks of pure Lana

I was just listening to lost at sea, and honestly I wouldn’t mind and album that had an influence from that song. It’s so beautiful and ethereal

in 2019 lana did gush about how jack could play the sitar but she's yet to incorporate it into her music so maybe she will this time!

I think people are reading way too much into the Alabama studio visit. Just because she was there with certain people and there were certain instruments involved doesn't mean that that indicates the sound of the music. She could've been recording demos/the songs will get more production later. Just keep an open mind.

i know people always say that last few tracks her albums hint at what her next album will sound like but i've never seen that as the case. i'd say it'd make more sense to look at the last recorded songs for each album but they won't even show us a full picture, just a look at maybe what the first few recorded songs for the next album could sound like in their early demo form. the last songs lana recorded for ocean blvd i think were candy necklace and margaret. so i wouldn't be surprised if we got a couple more tracks with jon batiste but he's pretty versatile so who even knows what the other songs they made together could sound like. they could be nothing like candy necklace. and i could see maybe some of her jack tracks having a similar vibe to margaret in their early stages but at the same time she wrote that song as a gift to jack & margaret so it could be a one off like those couple of country songs she & jack wrote during the norman sessions. so i'd say overall idk what to expect from lana for her next record. 

Love Taylor, obviously, but their voices don’t really compliment each other imo. Maybe we can ask Taylor to introduce Lana and Bon Iver bc I would kill for that collaboration. 

if we get any collabs i'm still praying for a joan baez collab! 
 
joan baez is so versatile like she's done folk, gospel, country, latin music, baroque pop, etc which leaves open so many possibilities for an interesting song between lana & joan

idk about on lanaboards, but on other social media fans have been complaining about wanting "classic lana" back since uv. ultraviolence was too raw and not pop enough but then honeymoon was too boring and slow and not edgy anymore but then lust for life was too pop and too happy and not authentic enough but then norman wasn't cinematic enough and too unpolished but then chemtrails was too boring and simple and conventional but then blue banisters was too all over the place and unpolished and the songs were written too much like poems. and ever since uv fans claim every new album is the one where she's trying to hard to please the critics. its become super predictable

In one of her interviews this year, Lana did say that the process of making albums with Rick existed in a "vacuum" of sorts –– and that's not to say that that's a bad thing at all. Those earlier albums are meticulously arranged and contain a lot of intentionality in their presentation, which requires some level of spatial distance from things to really focus ("in this town, an artist really needs a lot of space when they're trying to create something special," as Lana said in the Lust for Life trailer). But it's clear that Lana operates communally and has really leaned into the experience of making an album for the sake of sharing ideas within a community of songwriters –– that's evident in how she speaks of her crew in Echo Park (Drew Erickson, Zach Dawes, Benji Lysaght, Dean Reid, etc.) and of Jack Antonoff. Her recording music with local musicians and instrumentalists in Alabama really hones in on this idea of making music for the sake of the experience, rather than just the final product –– and I think that breathes a different kind of life into the music, as though the context transforms the way it's listened to. So it's just cool to be on that journey with her –– and this is not to preach from any high horse or anything, but I think you enjoy the music more when you just let it be released without any expectation of what you think it should sound like. (But I get that that's simply the paradox of being a devoted fan, so there's no way to completely get rid of that). 

it's sad how some people feel that you're basically in a nursing home, knitting sweaters in your death-bed by the time you're around 60  63 is not that old
