But if you asked for a record, it’d almost f**k it up. I’d rather you hear nothing until 10 years from now you found out that we wrote a whole album!” 

I remember before the internet and smartphones when you had to guess if your favorite artist was in the studio or even going to make another album anytime soon. Music magazines would sometimes get vague updates, timelines, or release dates—and that was it. Very little hand-wringing in that era.

I'm almost sure that's the case. I don't think they would try to make Lana record a specific type of song cause she probably just makes her albums as she want and then maybe takes some light advice from the label... but if there's something on the upbeat side in the coming album they will definitely try to push that as a single.
 
I don't think Lana can be "tricked" into that tho cause all her latest singles have been ballads and even if the respective albums were on the slow side anyway I'm sure Interscope wanted TFJ as a single for example (and it was at some point considering it was the title track...). The same as IYLDWM being featured in some spotify playlists when BB was released 
Chemtrails wasn't that slow but it was the title track so it was bound to be a single anyway 
 
At this point it's probably a tug of war between Lana writing and releasing whatever she wants and the label trying to get the maximum profit with what they get

I don't want to ruin the party or something but for me it looks like a photo from behind the scenes of the homemade music video for ''pawn shop blues'' that got released on chuck's instagram, it features alana which a long-term friend of her so its no surprise she can be involved with any, future or past project. But it could also mean that we'll have a release for pawn shop blues (and i'd love it to be able to hear on streaming platforms)

I'm desensitized to Ben's comments. Like he could say "a beautiful new album coming this week" and I wouldn't move
