Let’s not forget that the only time critics got Lana right was NFR. Cocc and BB (and to a lesser extent LFL) were heavily overrated while HM was tanked. I would have loved for OB to receive critical acclaim but it is what it is. 

The critical reception feels a little underwhelming given how acclaimed the three singles are. The record isn't nearly as agreeable as NFR, so I didn't expect it to top the latter's reviews. Anyway, this *is* getting very good reviews in general - at least by the trades and magazines that actually matter (MOJO, Rolling Stone UK, The Guardian, NME) -, but it'll be absolutely ridiculous if the album ends up with a Metascore similar to COCC or BB's.
 
At least The Guardian gave Lana a good score for the first time in years. 
 

This is a good point, I feel like reviewers should be required to have at least 3 undistracted listens before they're qualified to review 

Let’s not forget UV and Honeymoon also aren’t as praised as they deserve to be. Ocean Blvd is gonna be a gem for the girls who get it 

I feel like the actual write ups are pretty amazing praise, but the actual rating isn’t as good? 

Well the guardians score was 60 for chem and bb so an 80 for ocean is good!

I imagine it will be at least a little higher than BB in the end. Lol @ the guardian saying BB is her best album tho. Thats some good crack they on. Lol

She's on another level! Lana is writing songs like nobody else, and I truly believe that she will be very acllaimed with this record. The lyrics are cohesive and there's a strong sense of genuineness. It's an album that feels like a personal confession, and I wish more people could appreciate the artist's intimacy. Fingertips is her Magnum Opus. It is unbelievable how she can transpose all her feelings into one song, and the rawness and lack of filter makes everything even more magical and unique. She's woven her life story into poetry and song. With each passing year, she has solidified her reputation as one of the most authentic, imaginative, and relatable artists in the music industry. She's a true powerhouse, a singer who has undeniably achieved legendary status by this point.

ever since the album leak (which i've somehow managed to not listen to) i've been desperately trying to catch up on the thread but everytime i'm gone for a couple of hours there's like 30 new pages
