It’s not her best song by a long shot, I do like it has more vocal layers and production. Lyrically it has some great lines, but there is this sense of repetition from her and plodding familiarity.  I’d be surprised if this is in my top three songs on this record.  I will say that I always see her albums as a piece and I can’t really have a strong feeling about a particular single until I hear the whole record and how it flows and then my opinion can change.  

This is so beautiful  I'm sure she does know that her artistry won't be forgotten but she's had so much hate and misunderstanding thrown her way that there must also be concern that she'll be remembered for unfair reasons, and she really cares about ensuring that her legacy ends up being what she knows it to be. 
 
The way the song ends with the choir still singing her song after she's gone is so powerful, like a mirror to her music living long past her.

For real. I do like the song as I said before but damn…people are just blindly throwing compliments and saying they love it and she ate etc. It’s a beautiful song, the lyricism of this era will be unmatched, but the production itself does feel BBish, as if we’re still stuck in a loop. The insiders were gassing this the FUCK up saying it was different from anything she’d ever done and her magnum opus and…lyrically yes (aside from the last 2 minutes being “don’t forget me” sounding like one of those weird upbeat pharmaceutical commercial song covers) but production wise? You start the song and it’s IYLDWM with *better lyrics and LMLYLAW with orchestra on top. I’m excited for the orchestra, the piano did not disappoint, and I heard the beautiful sound of actual drums somewhere in there but this doesn't feel completely different as people were saying. That’s not to say I didn’t give her 45 dollars at 10:14AM as soon as I found the preorder link but I am holding out hope for the album itself!

I made my boyfriend listen and he said it sounds so much like IYLDWM and that IYLDWM is the superior song 🙄 he wasn’t listening with sound proof headphones though like I was… I don’t know, to me Tunnel sounds like it has a certain melancholy that’s been lacking from her stuff for awhile, and it makes it different and beautiful. 

We had a good day of fun, and now we're back to the "IF YOU LIKE THIS NEW SONG YOU ARE A DELUSIONAL CULT MEMBER WHO CAN'T CRITIQUE ANYTHING AND ANYTHING UNDER 150 BPM SOUNDS THE SAME TO ME" vs "IF YOU DON'T SAY THIS IS YOUR FAVORITE LANA SONG EVER YOU'RE A DUMB FUCKING HOE WHO SHOULD LOG OUT OF YOUR LIFE AND CHANGE THE PASSWORD" wars
 

Give it a few days to see if any opinions change. I feel like initial reactions are always like that. I actually really like the song, but I don’t think it’s that much better than some of the songs on Chemtrails or BB. It seems like there will be more variety on this album, though so I’m still looking forward to hearing the rest. 

Oh yeah, it’s a beautiful song but I am hoping that’s it’s one of the weaker tracks on the album, it’s essentially a yassified IYLDWM (which I’m completely fine with). I do prefer it over IYLDWM and LMLYLAW to an extent though, it’s like a more fully realized version of them  it sounds like a Hans Zimmer-ification of Lana’s past two albums

Honestly, when the song started I was immediately reminded of IYLDWM or Buddy’s Rendezvous. I think the song is definitely gonna grow on me. I could do without the choir voices at the end but there are parts of the song that feel like nothing she’s ever done (in a good way). This isn’t just a COCC/BB piano ballad, this feels different and I’m here for it. You already know my preorder is in and I’m excited for my birthday present. ❤️ I love the jazzy elements, and of course the orchestra. Orchestra is something to be excited for. And the best part… I hear drums.

also this is just a single so we can’t be quick to judge, you know? there’s 13 more songs (not including interludes) and we know some of them are gonna be “grand” so it’s okay that this track is on the minimal side

Why do i not see a lot of people on here being critical of the new single… I really expected something more/different the way those insiders were hyping it up. It’s rly giving “i’ve heard this before” to me. Same tempo, structure, build up, etc as we can find on LMLYLAW, IYLDWM, BBS…
