The lyric is "whatever he has, I have" it's just broken apart weirdly, but it is all one sentence.

i really think the lyric is just referencing the fact she will continue kissing the person she's talking about honestly, not the fact she's being careless about spreading it. we know lana isn't like that

How can some of y'all see a problem with everything tho... She's literally just saying she has been kissing that person so she probably got it too, how in the world is that disrespectful? I doubt people in 2023 are going to drag her for that, literally no one will care except for the 10 woke twitter users as always

How is she being careless tho?... If you're dating someone, spend time with them, and that person tests positive you're already at risk, so what are you going to do? better to stay with that person actually, is not like she's mocking victims of covid or something like that

so i'm kinda gonna say smth a bit personal, but basically, perhaps like some other gays on here, I was raised religious, and of course, that's complex. but when I was younger, we'd sing hymns, and I was being trained to be the lead singer and sang reglarly for the congregation cus they liked my voice. there's definitely a condemnation goin on, and just lots of bigotry etc. but ever since I heard Lana sing, her voice and styling reminded me of how they'd sing at church, and the vastness of what she sings, I think it kinda has this glorious euphoria, and spirituality more recently that feels more loving and enveloping. an unexpected comfort from queen baddie, the range. and also, the lesson that humanity's still got some glimmering beams of hope for not being a total asshole etc.

w the depth of tunnel, the wiles and heat of aw, and the straighforwardness and courage of the grants, this has honestly been one of the most spiritual and healing album cycles. spiritual or not, i think we all as people have a lot of inner work to do as a people, and it's great to find something to align and relate with, in all shades of awareness. moving humanity forward well.

I just don't understand what's so difficult to wrap one's head around the concept that Lana releases music for herself and for music, not to release the biggest "chart smash" or to appease others and that's okay. The fact that she continues to go the less obvious route by releasing The Grants instead of something like Taco Truck should be the most glaring example of that

I love how people think that it’s about her family (or when people say it’s about love) when in fact it’s about her pov.
like she’s not singing about caroline or her brother or her dad, she’s singing about how she builds her relationship with the world– and her family members, ex-boyfriends, friends, nemesis, fame and culture are all a part of it. She’s talking about her relationship with the Big Other

i think it's so special that they decided to keep the part where one of the backup singers sings the lyrics incorrectly and then they just start again and sing it beautifully, it really encapsulates the vibe of this album, just stream of consciousness and letting it all flow without forcing anything to sound fabricated and perfect

    That is another good point.

When are Ben and Interscope going to start doing promotions for this record? No trailer, no music videos, no TV appearances, not even lyric visualizers on youtube. Like, what exactly is the point of having them?

A&W was 2mins longer and the Grants should have replay value for fans.. first day streams should not be worse, no matter how awful the song is. Especially after a radio premiere on one of the UK’s biggest radio station.

Not y’all comparing the dark, eerie, folk song turned bop A&W to The Grants

Of course A&W had better streams. It’s a lot catchier and has way more replay value. And I say that as a Grants stan

It’s a promo single that ironically has zero promo to it. Had she released something like Peppers, it would have become viral - people were really hyped about A&W.

look The Grants is beautiful but are we really surprise it's not charting?

Lana really is down that singer-songwriter path she always was on but might not have been as apparent at first. Agree 💯 with what you said: it’s not for everyone.
but for me, it is incredible, to be able to hear such songs, especially the new ones with the orchestra. It’s when I try to get back to pure pop that I find it boring, soulless and manufactured  (for example: Miley’s latest really didn’t do much for me ; I really thought it followed the recipe to female pop singers putting out a breakup album. No tea no shade towards her or anyone who loved it though)
