Realistically, I think the single is dropping the end of summer and the album probably won’t arrive until the end of this year or the top of next year. From a business point of view, perhaps they are waiting until January 2022 so that Blue Banisters gets more exposure as it coincides with Born to Die’s 10 year anniversary. People talking about BTD’s legacy and Lana being celebrated in the mainstream for her longevity after 10 years is the perfect time to release a new album, commercially-speaking.

Hello, everyone!
As we all know, Lana's big debut with Born To Die happened almost 10 years ago (and if you didn't know, now you do!), in fact, it will the album's 10th anniversary in Januray 2022! I know most of us are hoping for a big celebration, preferably with a new release of the album including some goodies for us fans to spend all our coins on. But what can we do for Lana, except for happily giving her our money? I present to you, the...
Born To Die - 10th Anniversary Project
What is this, you ask? Well, I've had this idea for a very long time, so let me share it with you all!
LanaBoards.com is home to some of Lana's most dedicated fans, and I want to create a fan book together with you! This felt like a great opportunity to celebrate an album that means a lot to us, and sure to Lana as well. Some of us were there before the release, some of us became fans sometime later, but there's no denying that Born To Die is a very special album. This fan book project will be your chance to leave a message for Lana to read, and share your art to be printed in a book that will be given to Lana. I hope. I'll try my best to make contact with her team so the book can be in her hands. This is something I can't do alone as, well, a book with only a message from myself would look more like a pamphlet. I need you guys to join in the fun! If you think this sounds exciting, keep reading for more details below!
Who's behind this project?
I (Clampigirl) will be in charge of this project. I will pay for the book to be printed and for the shipping. I will spend my own time creating this book, but I'll study 150% this upcoming semester (100% meaning a normal schedule, 150% meaning taking an extra class on the side) so I will be busy with school at the same time. But I will try my very hardest to complete this fan book before BTD's anniversary. I want to do it because I think it'll be a fun project for the community to join, because I want to challenge myself and learn how to create a book for printing, and because I'm certain Lana would love to read everyone's messages.
I will do my best to keep this thread updated every now and then so you know where I am in the process.
What will the book include?
As I'm picturing it right now, the book will include messages from us here at LanaBoards. A section of the book will be dedicated to fanart. If you want to, you can share a selfie to go with your message.

If you are a standard user, you may write a message of 400 characters.
If you are a supporters user or a moderator, you may write a message of 800 characters.
Elle, as the hardworking admin and owner of this site, will get the opportunity to write a longer message.
As briefly mentioned above, you can also submit any fanart or selfies with your message!
To share your message, you'll need to fill in a form. In the form, please fill in:
Your username: This is to make sure that you’re a user on LanaBoards, and that no one tries to impersonate you. Your name: This is optional. This is for Lana to get a closer connection to you than just reading a username. Where you live: This is also optional. I promise you that I don’t care where you live, and that I will never try to track you down - I have more important things to spend my time on. Once again, this is for Lana to know where her fans are located. Your message: Normal users are limited to 400 characters. This is so everyone will have a chance to be in the book. BE NICE. Do not criticize her! Do not tell her if you dislike a song and that it shouldn’t have been on the album, or that you dislike something she’s done or said. A separate section of the book will be dedicated to fanart. If you have fanart in video or audio form, please refrain from leaving a link as it will be difficult to print in a book. All fanart might not be included in the book! This depends on how many users upload a file. Make sure you take a good, high quality picture if your art isn’t digital (like a pencil drawing, or a tattoo) to raise your chances of getting included. A small note will be left with your art, to inform Lana who made it.

I truly love Wildflower Wildfire as it is, though the changes on Text Book would be great and, as much as I love Blue Banisters as it is, I'd really appreciate a new addition to it. I don't know if some drums would make it great (a la Music To Watch Boys To, or even Terrence Loves You) but it's true it would be an interesting twist to have both single and album versions of those three songs.

Hi! So my name is Angela and i'm an audiovisual and graphic designer, and as everyone here i love lana haha. So to learn, and use my skills I started designing stuff inspired in lana, and trying to recreate some pieces of merch that aren't available anymore, or never created in different formats or pieces. The splendid bridge makes me think she has been playing with the lyrics for quiet some time. Maybe she added it when Playboi Carti and A$AP were already involved, but I doubt that. It has the same feeling as the verses on the (solo) version haha

It would be nice if we got more demos, but that barely happens. Which makes me think the leakers like to keep the better versions to themselves most of the time. So, I hope there is!

I think that I would've liked Summer Bummer to be solo in the album, and maybe Playboi Carti and A$AP Rocky added for a remix released as a single or something. But yeah, I wonder too if there was a final solo version before they added Rocky and Carti or was it just from So Good to the final mix. So Good sounds kinda plain to be considered a solo version imo, it feels like it lacks something big. If only the official instrumental for the album version leaked in 320 kbps

Yours sounds cool too! I like the layered parts with the humming in the background and the ‘Don’t be a bummer, babe.’ in the outro. It’s really nice! Only the end has a little bit of that pixelated filtered sound, but I don’t mind it too much. Your version sounds like a solo version would have worked for LfL, something I used to question.
The demo sounded very plain to me.

Sounds cool! I remember doing a mix a while ago in which I used most of the So Good acapella, the Summer Bummer instrumental, the DIY acapella from the Summer Bummer's bridge and adding the hmmms *under* the pre-choruses. I don't know if I still have it, but I remember it sounding kinda poorly mixed. This one sounds nice!
EDIT: lol I found it. I remember the whole thing sounding like sh*t, but I may have redone it at some point. The bridge sounds harsh because of my bad filtering of the vocals lmao. Just in case you want to check it out. Your mix sounds nicer imo

I actually think Thunder and Cherry Blossom go so well with the other three songs!
 
Cherry Blossom and Blue Banisters are both piano-driven with very rich vocals, and I’m sure a re-recorded version of Cherry Blossom will have a bit of additional production (like the ambient background synths in BB and piano embellishments on top of the main accompaniment) to reflect BB’s sonic landscape. 
 
Thunder and Text Book definitely belong to the same album as well - they both have this driving pulse to them and have this rolling feeling to them, especially with the lovely background singers. Since Thunder is from the same sessions as California, I could see the version that leaked being a demo and the version that ends up on BB having substantial differences (like how California has an unleaked demo that is noticeably different from the version on NFR). 
 
And then “my body is a map of LA....” also sounds like it will stay true to the vibe of Blue Banisters and Cherry Blossom.
 
So I’m thinking ? this record will have two sounds - one half being piano-driven, soulful ballads, and the other half being atmospheric, rockabilly/bluegrass-inspired music with subtle jazz influences and prominent background singers!

The So Good Acapella mixed with the Summer Bummer instrumental. 
 
I love the original concept of the song and desired a more powerful version of it. I tried mixing it with the SB instrumental.
