Are you gonna drop another album anytime soon and surprise everyone?

"I don't think it will be a surprise when I'll do it but... you know... I will soon... I'm working on stuff I love."

Is it in a different direction from the last time?

"Yeah... but I don't know if you'd really know 'cause it has more to do with just like...I don't know... a clarity of inner dialogue that I feel is coming through better."

    How about music?

"It's kinda in the same aesthetic."

So I love editing and thats what I basically do in my free time.. I like to retouch / make cover art. I'm 100% self taught and I started editing in like 2012. Through the years I've learned more and more about editing through Photoshop and I'm happy to share some of my work with you:)

Well, we can not argue about our different tastes. Personally, I think it was weak and has very little replay value for me these days.

Lana is actually stealing the souls of these artists using the spells outlined in her satanic witch book. That's why she's been looking so young recently.
  16. Bambi Lies liked a post in a topic by HawaiianTropic in Baz Luhrmann Reveals Prince Song That Never Happened For Great Gatsby Turned Out To Be Opportunity For Lana Del Rey
I don't mean to be one of those annoying freaks obsessed with conspiracy theories, but I find it insane that Lana keeps having all these affiliations with dying celebrities.

Remember in 2014 when she was scheduled to collaborate with Lou Reed for a song on Ultraviolence, but on that exact day he died!

Then Lana goes and references David Bowie lyrics in 'Terrence Loves You' ("Ground control to Major Tom") and talks about him in an interview (how Lana Del Rey isn't a persona or an alter-ego like David Bowie)... then he dies a month or two after?

Now, Prince! Not that long ago on the Honeymoon account, do any of you remember this post which read:
"Living in the land of Honeymoons & Oil Tycoons. God Bless America, the land of pink champagne & purple rain. This is my favourite perspective / nothing but white sails above and blue waters rolling in front of me for miles and miles."

Take a close look, she references "PURPLE RAIN"... and now Prince is dead.

I know that it's quite possibly a coincidence, and I'm not saying that we should take any of this too seriously, but I just find it super weird that Lana keeps referencing someone, then not soon after they're dead. It could just be that she is influenced by a lot of older artists, but I just find it so strange regardless.

I'm surprised not a lot of people chose Yayo. I mean, all or the other songs listed make sense, too, don't get me wrong..
  18. Bambi Lies liked a post in a topic by Thunder Revenant in Which song best represents "Lana Del Rey"
Born To Die, Video Games, Old Money or The Blackest Day in my opinion.
  19. Bambi Lies liked a post in a topic by Flipflopfan in Which song best represents "Lana Del Rey"
Video Games. This song made her a star and it's arguably one of the most relevant songs for the 2010's

It's very much the essence of LDR without the annoying bad boy trope
  20. Bambi Lies liked a post in a topic by baddisease in Is Lana Declining?
I think 24 and Honeymoon were the weakest original songs on HM, and DLMBM is probably a good example of why she should leave other peoples' songs alone. I think the quality of her writing is declining.
  21. Bambi Lies liked a post in a topic by sweetie in Is Lana Declining?
Not really - she has already declined and hit rock bottom. Her commercial and relevance peak was in 2012. Any success she's enjoyed since then is due to the afterburn of Born To Die's controversy. However, she's still declining lyrically and visually; her creative output just seems to get weaker and more uninspired over time.

Don't quote me with some "music not the bling" fantasy. The quality of her music is following a similar trajectory to her career, and it's not looking that good. No shade. I still love Honeymoon, but I feel that's only due to my personal bias as a stan. I'll love and support anything she puts out, but I won't deny it's bad.
  22. Bambi Lies liked a post in a topic by COLACNT in Is Lana Declining?
in terms of energy and general motivation, yes

though the quality of the music and (some of the) lyrics might still be there, the imagery is part of the overall package and in that area she's fucking up, majorly

  23. Bambi Lies liked a post in a topic by American Money in Is Lana Declining?
I don't know if her goal in the beginning was to be a big pop artist. I think she wanted her music to be loved and recognized, but more on a critically-acclaimed scale, as opposed to a commercially-acclaimed scale. When the opposite happened it was good for her career, yes, but I think more disappointing to her, causing her attitude towards everything (specifically promoting) to decline.

I think that's why she focuses more on the music now, because although her music might seem more boring or not as exciting now (which I personally agree with), she's definitely becoming technically better in terms of production, atmosphere, etc. If that makes any sense?

Visually, as in music video and to a lesser extent her own self, has obviously declined. I wished she care about presenting a whole package, videos, music, looks, now as much as she did then.
  24. Bambi Lies liked a post in a topic by leaked_version in Is Lana Declining?
Commercially, yes. And she is the one to blame for it, because the music has been good. It's just some weird choices she makes. Like making Honeymoon a promo single and MTWBT a second single.

Artistically I think she is at a point where she needs to challenge herself a bit more. Not for hits, but more to keep the attention of the listener throughout the record. Tempo-changes would be nice. Making the whole record super-slow ain't doing the trick.

Having everything "beautiful" and "majestetic" is way too settled for a woman making her third major label album. Also, most of the songs on HM go on for about a minute too long.
