i’m happy we got born to die because lana wouldn’t have had the success she’s had otherwise… but i don’t exactly hear the masterpiece y’all are hearing except on the title tracks and video games :bebe:

i actually think it’s aged a bit poorly :bebe:

especially blue jeans, radio and carmen :bebe:

Off to the Races has to be one of the most unique, innovate, creative songs I’ve ever heard.

Anyways, this album and Lana herself completely changed the music game for me, and I think she’s the most influential artist of the past decade. I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since I first discovered her. In those 10 years, I still have yet to find another artist that has interested me and drawn me in as much as she has.

This iconic album is aging beautifully, it's everything it's supposed to be and will always be remembered as a game-changer :true: It's sound is also very important to the journey Lana has since taken, as so much of her narrative is about personal growth and moving away from the mindset that is explored on this album. Brilliance all around :defeated:

Can't believe it's really been a whole decade of this album. I wasn't a fan at all in 2012. I "hated Lana". (Little did I know she would become my favourite artist of all time.:crai:) I loved sad and "depressing" music but Lana was too funeral-ish and tOo MaInStrEaM (:toofloppy:) for little 15 year old me lol. I never gave her an honest chance, until some time early 2013 when I watched the National Anthem video and was bloooown away, then tried the BTD title track and I became obsessed. And so on.... I discovered that Lana was (not only SO FUCKING GOOD but also) like nothing I had ever heard before. And it's still true. There is no other album like Born To Die (and her later albums). I may not be listening to BTD as much and often as I did before, but it is timeless. Totally unique. Fun. Full of bops. I love every single track on this record. With every beat of my cocaine heart :crying4:
I'm just soo devastated and sad (like many of you I assume) that we really got ROBBED of 10nth anniversary album/edition :poordat:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BTD.❤️

Celebrating by playing it on repeat today.
