Just received another email from a store that I contact and they said:

”Next album of Lana Del Rey is Violet Bent Backwards. Chemtrails has no release date yet.”

 

but now we know

So we’re back to page 1212. Is this some kind of joke? Or is this Lana’s plan all along? She’s putting us under a curse so that we have to relive this page over and over again and CoCC is just her way of toying with us

the only “certainty” is Let Me Love You Like a Woman will be released first.
No single = no album.

The whole surprise release was off when she mentioned a (delayed) date, posted the snippet, and indicated the rollout of the release last Wednesday. It’s now a normal release and I don’t see the surprise drop happening anymore. To expect that is simply being plain masochist.

Exactly! If we didn’t expect an album from her at all and she released that, would be a surprise. But we know a lot of things: the name, some tracks’ names, even that she was shooting a mv for the title track... is not longer a surprise

My idea for the 'genre' inspiration of this album is like NFR 2.0

 

NFR was singer-songwriter, laurel canyon. Very much a woman at the piano singing her feelings mixed with some psychedelica and guitar and strings.

COCC will be singer-songwriter as well and still personal, but more of the folk-country tradition than laurel canyon sonically. More Joan Baez than Carole King or Joni Mitchell.

(I don't expect her lyrical style to change to folk storytelling style or whatever, though that would be a really cool switchup for her!)

It’s 9/11 this Friday so it’s highly unlikely that she’ll release a single then. So maybe this Wednesday or next Friday?
