TEMPORARY Chemtrails Over the Country Club - Pre-Release Thread: OUT March 19th, 2021

Recommended Posts

I just checked his Instagram comments and people are calling him a liar, calling him a f*g, sending death threats, telling him to deactivate... He never said explicitely that something was coming (especially the album since that's certainly not his job) and he might have been foolish to post whatever he was trying to say and not realise the fans would riot, but honestly HE NEVER SAID THE ALBUM WAS COMING so it's not fair to attack him. It was all fan conspiracy and delusion, so if there's disappointment that should be kept with us, the fans, and certainly not involve him.

honestly, not blaming him for the death threats or anything of COURSE, but i’m surprised he hasn’t turned off comments on the post yet because i could not be fucked with grown gay men screaming at me over a 35 year old woman.

What some of you guys don't get is that the waiting is not a problem. I'd wait 5-10-20 years for her to drop a record - till it gets announced. After lana says something about a new project she simply owes to fans and she simply has to follow a schedule. It's not cool to give your millions of fans something to hype to then go silent and let them down. The wait for nfr was worse than lfl as she talked too much about it. Even though lfl waiting was twice as long it wasn't hard to wait as she didn't announce it till the lead single and then she followed a certain schedule.

Artists don't owe anything to their fans, they succeed based on their talent. That's my opinion at least. And this really has nothing to do with Lana since September 5th hasn't happened yet and even the day Sheridan said (today) isn't over yet... people are just getting messy

Well that's your opinion and I respect it but to me artist do owe to their fans. They are the ones who made them reach to the places where they are now and they are the one that's going to buy the record. If they don't owe something than I guess they could just keep the album to themselves - that's art, releasing a record on the other hand is not art, it's marketing.

To be fair, they succeed on their sales too. That's pretty much how the music business works. So to an extent, I believe artists should meet halfway with their fans, depending on what's being asked of them.

But I agree, people should stop harassing Lana's poor hair stylist over something that could very well just be a magazine shoot.

for me, i find it kind of dangerous to get into a position, mentally, where you believe someone you’ve never met, a celebrity, owes you.

they never asked to be famous in most cases and they never asked you as an individual to be a fan of them and their personal lives specifically.

we pay her for her music. she creates art and we buy it. everything else, like merch and shows and this and that; the environment that allows us to become “fans” is optional - it’s a bonus.

we pay a starbucks worker for the drink they made us. if we like going back to that particular starbucks because they make the drinks the best there, it doesn’t mean they owe us for the continuous service, you know? maybe it’s a bad example, but when i serve a regular and something happens and they say “IM NEVER COMING BACK !!! >:^( !!!“ my reaction is normally something along the lines of “okay, fuck off then!”

in my head it puts too much pressure on an individual to say they owe their fans. it’s nice when celebrities feel as though they’re in a mental position to consider fans closer to their hearts and like family and like they do owe them but i don’t expect it. she creates a product and we consume it, a lot of us consume it and we want more! that’s the beauty of supporting artists.

Thank you for articulating what I am too lazy to write lol. 100% yes to all this. We know Lana never asked to blow up and didn't even like it (as evident from her early reactions to fame/performing) so to say she owes us anything is... absurd

Why would people be sending him death threats and calling him names? That's just nasty in my opinion. Fair enough if you want to comment about what he posted but there's no need to call him names and be mean, i don't understand unnecessary nastiness tbh
